I've come up with a name for the cabin. In honor of my wife Nancy who was my hunting partner for over 50 years and who I called Red Bird because of her red hair I'm naming the cabin "RedBirds Nest" I'm having a wooden plaque made to put on the front of the cabin.

Her bow, quiver of arrows and the horn mount of the last buck she killed is already in the cabin on the wall. I know she would love the cabin so now she can share it with me at least in Spirit

Very nice Ron and may Redbirds spirit bless you.
Nancy was a fabulous lady and a determined hunter. It's a fitting name for the cabin. Enjoy buddy.

Ron, great tribute to the love of your life and best buddy.
Very touching.
There is no other name that could have been considered.
Such a fine tribute to your wife, Ron! Again, I am misty eyed. May her memory be eternal. Jawge
Beautiful Ron! I think the wind kicked some dust in my eye.
Beautiful cabin and beautiful tribute to your wife, Ron!
Just got the sign today. It's 36"X11.5" and will go on the front of the cabin above the porch.

Have not posted in quite a spell. I still visit this site from time to time, but no where near as active as I once was. I guess the passion has run it's course. But the poem written by Ron about his beloved wife, struck a nerve in me. I had my wife come and read it too. We are so very, very, lucky to still have each other, but knowing the day will come when one of us is left behind. God has blessed you and your wonderful wife Ron. The love you guys had for each other doesn't come along very often these days. How does one explain shedding tears for someone you've never met. Peace be with you...Ed.
Thank you Ed, I wish you and your wife a long and happy life together

A PLACE
We need a place where we can go
a place like written by David Thoreau
There to absorb the marrow of life
and leave behind our worries and strife
I think this is the place for me
A place to set my Spirit free
that I may live my remaining days
in peaceful bliss with natures ways
