I've got a strong hankering to go where I've been before,... on 3 occasions. Great properties for hogs and javies... Got 3 options, 3 sizes, 3 scenarios. Lots of memories from very successful hunts a few years back. I personally got 2 hogs and 2 javies on the 2 previous hunts. Contact says its still as good as before if not better.
Looking for those interested in going in January or February 2021. Got 3 interested so far before this post. If I remember correctly $150 a day, $750 for a 5 day hunt.... Outfitter preliminary set up DYI hunt on property with lodging and kitchen facilities.
Just looking for interest so as to make plans for which propery... i.e. which property size and/or strong lean on either species.
What say ye?

I will be getting more info from him later today so all will know....
He has a walk in cooler and bring your own corn.
I'll be back in a bit....
I've never hunted pigs but it's on my list to do. I'm thinking about retiring at the end of the year so I may come down for 2-3 days, keep us informed. D. Brown
Terry, count me in for February hunt. Love chasing those pigs in Texas. Our group hunt together was first rate fun, with quite a cast of characters. Have to look at specific week as I have rescheduled Covid wedding one weeks that month.
Spot and stalk with all TX has to offer with very inexpensive 5 day license is a very sweet deal, plus more Sun and no snow is a winner as well.
Thx for putting this deal on our plates.
Bill
I'll post up some pics as I can of previous hunts I was on....here are some of the critters Tradgangers got....

Count me in if there is still an opening. I'd love to go!
I'd really like to be in on this. Only one weekend I can't do it. I missed out on the tradgang hunt last year with my sons heart surgery.
If you've never chased Javis in south Texas, I highly recommend it. Javi were made for the trad bowhunter.
Great to see this type of interest...
Ill get with the outfitter and get some dates....
I have a few more pics to post if I get time... but hope most get the picture thus far....
[attachment=1]
I'm waiting on dates... for all 3 properties ... and let's see what dates suite most.... stay turned...
I am interested. Can't beat a south Texas hunt in the winter.
Sounds interesting
Fly into San Antonio or Laredo ... 2 or 3 share rental car... that works great for shuttling around the ranch...
That reminds me... i owe Joe half a rental. :banghead:
:coffee: :jumper: Looks interesting, have not been to Texas in 30 years :goldtooth:
Ken... was thinking about you and our Floridian Safari just last week and wondered if you might like in on this hunt. Would love to have ya... :campfire:
Looks like January.... at the moment.
Hey Ken!
Come to Texas and hunt with us. It will be a great time. I understand the place is a "target rich environment."
Cant make it, but been there more than once, jam up for sure!
Count me in Bud!!!
I'll keep an eye on this one .... Yes Terry it's been too long since Florida and it would be fun to see Joe again. Several of us from WA state used to go to the King Ranch many years ago when it was cheap and had some awesome hunts.
Great Ken.... looks like we are in for a great camp of guys so far... 2 want in that didn't post.... im getting excited already!
If theres room for another Ill definetly go.
Depends on the dates for me, our annual hog hunt in Louisiana is in January also.
:campfire:
I would love to go , give me the details
Glad to see a lot of excitement....
I'll get this wrapped up later in the week...
I am stoked! This is going to be a great trip.
I can't get definitive dates, just vague projections... nor what constitutes a small group.
I'm not going to jeopardize peoples hunts over non-certiancies. ...i.e goose chase.
I'll post back if and when I feel comfortable.
Id like to go but I'm going to The Javelina Hunt and others so if the group is too big it wont hurt my feelings ( too bad) 😏if I get left out.
ok...getting exact dates on smaller ranch said to be javie infested.... more so than the other two but less hogs.
Also, getting info on a new ranch with a house for lodging.
I'm going to make sure all is well before I request deposits.... but when I do, I'll need deposits in asap to solidify spots, especially if we run the small ranch as I need to keep that ranch close nit.
I have 3 definit commits already plus myself....that's going to leave only 8 spots...
That being said, everone on this thread is 1st in line...
Lookin good...
Ok... we have a ranch... 3k acres high density of javies less hogs.... not to say there aren't hogs... just LOTS of javies.... i.e. target rich.
I'm going to post a date and get this started based on the 3k ranch.... then as the group gets solidified we can chose a new ranch outfitter is looking at acquiring...which we could switch but go same week...
Hang on.. . Dates comming
January 24th - 29th.... thats the dates we are booking for ranch... if other ranch becomes available we'll chat and vote... but I'm happy where we are at!!!
Getting deposit info now...
Oh... disclaimer,.....as per Bill, Joe, and I...
This hunt will not exist if Sam and Son do not provide fish fry. :readit:
Correct on the fish fry. I get very ugly when my food needs aren't met.
Me, Joe, Bill, Kevin are all solid.... any others that want in please post again... we want all repeat offenders to have 1st option....
Im not a repeat but if you need another hunter just holler.
You bet Ronnie... we need a few more than repeaters from last year to fill this one.... :archer2:
To clarify, cost will be $150/day or approximate? Location is Larado vicinity (plus or minus 100 miles)? May or may not have lodging? Two javelina included in cost? Thanks, Steve
pencil me in--
Steve... last time there was a 2 javie limit....believe me ill check to make sure that is still same...
Lodging IS available definitely... on 3k... he's getting another ranch and a house next door...least that's his plan... not our concern yet.... we are going 3k now.
Yes... $150 a day....
South of Laredo (100 mile vicinity)
Let me verify 2 javie.....
:campfire:
Looks like mudcat is on the menu then!!
Count me and one son in for sure, got another checking on his schedule
Please count me in. Will make chile using Hatch green chiles.
That was too hot for Terry :biglaugh:
Only on the 1st day!!!....
That stuff really simmered out on day 3. It was Yumsters.
House, kitchen, game cooler... sleeps 12... ..if interested I'm fixing to post deposit info.
Repeat offenders in line 1st.... if need be I'll book 2 weeks.
Got Joe, Bill, Sam and son, Steve, Kevin, and I... leaves 5 more.. let me go through the thread...
Housing for all, kitchen, walk in cooler....
Bruce...1st to post...let us know if you are in!
Pat and Randy the same....
Sorry... I forgot to post. ... includes 2 javies.. and $20 house cleaning fee per person.
Coming together nicely! Terry,,thanks for doing all the legwork here, much appreciated
Dang, I'm out. Our annual hog hunt in Louisiana is the weekend before this one.
Have fun guys!
:campfire:
Going to chat with outfitter today and get everything mailed down...
Does anyone have any questions to ask him?
I don't know if there is any room left for this hunt. I'm in if there is.
Well James D, dont know what happened with this post but it sure stopped quick and left me, for one, hanging. If you're still interested in making a so. Texas pig hunt and need some company then let me know. Surely I'll be caught up with this storm damage by the end of the yr.
Its been chaos around here... I'm calling him now... :campfire:
OK, its on!!!... Send a $100 dollar deposit to.....

Yes Sir, am going
Me and Trick are still in
I am going to bow out of this hunt due to personal reasons. I hope you folks have a great time. Sounds like a great hunt and I hope to see some stories about it in a couple of months.
So sorry to hear that Steve.... you, and your chili will be missed.
im not gonna make this one :banghead:
OK, two openings available now.
Terry, I didn't get the email but saw the post you made. I cannot make it but I sure wish I could be there.

So this is a 6 day hunt? Just making sure so i can schedule my vacation.
Prolly just 5 if youre gonna buy the 5 day nonresident lic. ???
Thats what I figure but the departure date of the 30th threw me off. Just making sure
I guess we can hunt whichever 5 days we want. IDK.

Let me figure this out as it was supposed to be 5 days of hunting. :knothead:
This was what I originally posted, and I posted it right after I cleared it with the outfitter.....

Maybe we should arrive on the 23rd and get set in, license and food etc. Then hunt 24 25 26 27 28 and leave on the 29th. Or leave it as is and anyone can leave on the 29th if they like?
What say ye?
How many besides Joe have bought plane tickets yet?
We are flying to Laredo, basically same price but without the 2:45 minute drive.
Man that sounds like an awesome trip!!
Sounds like a plan ! I'm game..
And I'm driving... If I ever get nerve enough to get on another plane It'll be a one way trip to New Zealand !
23rd through 29th fits my work schedule perfect!
Great... hope to hear from others...NZ is worth a plane ride.
Either set of dates works with my schedule. I am driving from the Dallas area. Just let me know the final decision and I will be there.
I can change my return flight from Saturday the 30th to Friday 29th. I support the Sunday through Thursday hunt dates. 1/24-25,26,27,28- 5 day hunt
Ok... looks like we are in agreement, as this is what we chose in the beginning. So sorry I just copied and pasted.
I'll start us a forum for our hunt later today.
Let me get that forum up guys.... and if ya'll know anyone else that would like to go let me know... I had two others that have been these type hunts with us before and they were chomping at the bit to go. But, one has a snow goose hunt that week and the other is visiting family.
Welcome to the Laredo Tusk Roundup....
