These things look sweet. Have any of you guys shot them? What can you tell me?
Very solid bows. I shot the forward handle three piece longbow. If you want one go for it. I doubt you would be disappointed.
I had a 56" 3pc Bobcat longbow for a little while. Build quality to rival any, couldnt find any flaws. Performance right up there with the best. Def one of the most capable 3pc hunting bows Ive shot. Shot like a longer bow, very stable. It was quick and whisper quiet.
Cool. Does it feel like a shrew or Javaman or more like a heavier 3 piece? They are the only forward handle ones I have shot.
I've never shot the other bows you mentioned. So I cannot give a good answer. The particular hill country I shot was a little lighter than the 60" pch I had.
LOL like a light 3pc or heavier 2pc Id say. Definitely not as mass heavy as a Widow because they use way more glass materials in their risers. Also, he uses different length risers depending on the length and model. My 56" Bobcat had a 13" riser so pretty small and it was all wood with 2 reinforcement stripes.
One of the bows in my stable is a 56" Bobcat and I LOVE it. 48# @ 28", it pulls to just under 50# at my 29" draw length. Cocobolo riser & limbs. It's VERY accurate when I do my part, draws very smooth, & no finger pinch, even though it's a short bow. It likes my old GT traditional 3555's or Easton 2016's, and is very quiet. I'll never sell that one.
I have shot just about every model that Roman makes, and he knows what he's doing! Possibly some of the most underrated bows out there. He's an Amish furniture builder by trade, and his craftsmanship is impeccable. His grips are very comfortable and shootable. His hybrid long bow limbs are smooth quiet, stable and performance is right up there with the best of them. His static recurve limbs follow suit with all the same attributes as the LB limbs, but a tad louder and a bit faster. Really great shooting bows! I currently own three Hill Country's and I doubt I'll ever let any of them go.
a picture beats a word reply.
I have killed NUMEROUS big game animals with my hill country bow, this is just one of them. The ease and efficiency not to mention beauty is up three with the very best
