Some of the local guys were coming over to shoot on Tuesday nights, and we donated money to St. Jude from the small fee required. Now that we have moved our business, that option in no longer available, so we are now pursuing other ways to help those kids.
Besides donating a couple of our EFA bow quivers to the auction, we sold something on the bay with the intent to donate the proceeds to the Tradgang / St. Jude program. Not content with that, we came up with this challenge: Who of you will match the $112.00 that we will donate from this sale? It's less then you'd pay for a dozen arrows, or some bow quivers. If you can't do that, then how much can you do. Remember, it's for the kids. and every little bit helps. :archer2:
Terry, I hope that I haven't violated any rules here. I just feel a strong passion to help these kids.
Great deal sir!
Thanks Terry, I had some doubts about doing this.
Ah, come on guys. Even a small donation is precious to these kids.
:archer2:
I'll match it..... $112.00. Tell me how to get the $$$ to whoever is collecting for this match. PayPal would work well for me.
Now, lets see if someone or several someone's can match the $224.00
Thanks Bruce, now we are up and running. It would be great if someone matched the $224, or the $112, or whatever. Every dollar will be appreciated by these wonderful kids.
I believe that we can run until the end of the auction. By then I'm sure Terry will let us know where to send it.
Works for me. Just be sure and follow up with directions cause I might miss em... old guy.
Like many of you, I've had a good life, a good season, for which I am grateful.. Many of these kids at St Jude have little or no future without help from people like you and I. The Good Samaritan helped when others were to occupied to get involved with someone else's plight.
Take a moment and lend a hand to help these kids. You can rest assured that it's a good cause. It doesn't have to be a lot, but please consider giving something.
Bless you!
Bruce, as a teenager we squirrel, rabbit, and frog hunted near the Wabash river on the Indiana side. Squirrel hunting was a challenge in the bottom land where you had oil pumps surrounded by dense thickets and isolated pecan trees. You could see squirrels in the trees from a distance, but by the time you made it through the brush they were gone.
Finally, I happened on something that worked really well. There was a creek that flowed through the area which separated the oil field from a corn field. Standing in that creek was like being on the interstate, in heavy traffic. There were several places where they could cross over, and the squirrels kept these routes busy. My older cousin would return from the morning hunt tired and with lots of scratches from plowing through the briars, with nothing to show for his effort. He couldn't believe that I had gotten the limit and had gotten back before he had. We were pretty competitive and I don't believe I ever told him the secret.
:deadhorse: Do you think traditional archers are more generous toward kids then most others?
One last request for the kids of St Jude. Let's help Terry and the moderators of Tradgang raise some of the money needed to save lives.. If you don't bid in the auction then consider donating here. God will love you for it.
Sent you a PM
I'll donate $5.00 if someone will match it. Can you help get this rolling? Right now the total is $224.00 for this thread, plus what's donated in the next couple of days. :clapper:
Is this still going? If so, let me know, and I'll match the $112.00!!!
Bisch
How about a 3X donation?
I think that's $336
How do I mark that down when I send the check to Walt?
It's still on Bisch. Is that $112 a firm commitment? That would be great!
Smokin Joe, I'm not sure what you're sayng. 'Are you offering a $336 donation. Wow! that would get things going.
A lot of us have probably wanted to help these kids of St Jude, but just never got around to it. Well, now is the time. The auction is over, but we can still donate.
:clapper: God Bless! :clapper:
Thanks guys... Don, just let me know the total and we'll add it to the grand total.
:clapper:
YES.
I am offering a donation of $336 to give this some momentum.
Who will match or beat my donation?
Great1 That's now $565 for the kids. Is anyone interested in taking it to $1,000? We can do it. We are halfway there with just 3 donars. We will probably need to close it down soon, so don't just think about doing it, join us, and feel good about it.
Yes, the $112 is a firm commitment from me. I'll get a check in the mail to Walt tomorrow.
Bisch
Right now we have commitments for $565 from 3 people, from 2 different states. Wow!, just think what we would have with participation from all states.
Thanks Joe and Bisch, you were very generous.
Terry, I suppose we need to wrap this up. Would tomorrow (6/12/20) at 10:00pm be okay? Also, what is the best way to pay? Thanks for your patience.
I already paid by noting it in my check that I sent to Walt. I hope that's OK.
I just did $150. Thanks Don Ward for all your efforts
Ray
Great Ray. We are now up to $715.
We have 4 donars from NC, Texas, and now Michigan. If we had that kind of participation from all states, it would total more than $12,000. Wow! We still have a day left. Maybe we'll take it over $1,000. After all, we all like kids, and they do need our help.
Thanks!
Hey, I am in Illinois and was the first to match. I guess I am supposed to send in directly and then post..... OK....
Thanks Bruce. You got it started. To update we have a total of 5 donars, from 4 states, and a total of $827. Thanks Bruce, Bisch, Smokin Joe, and Ray. Together we gave a boost to Tradgang's effort to help the kids at St Jude.
If you would like to join us in helping the kids fighting for their lives, jump right in. It is a great cause.
God Bless!
👍👍
Y'all email me receipts and I'll add it to the charity event on this with St. Jude Children's Hospital like all the other donations.
Here is a photo of my receipt. Thanks

Here is a photo of my receipt. Thanks
That'll do. I'll submit it as well. This brings us to $4713.96 that I've verified thus far. Thank you for your donation to the kids.
I'd like to take a minute to recount the last few days. Together, Bruce, Busch, Smoking Joe, and Ray, we contributed to help some precious kids, many of whose lives will be cut short. We can feel good about helping them through this terrible time. I'm grateful that Tradgang does this annually, and thank the moderators for all that they do.
God Bless you all. :clapper:
