Well my Old Man finally got the bag targets placed in what he calls the "Outdoor PlayStation" during his down time from this virus and we got to break it in today for the first time.
Here I am (Darci) with a few arrows in the block target .

:dunno:
Looks real nice.
What's the tube sticking out the front used for?
Dan the pole is for a swinging target like this one which is a piece of carpet rolled around a 2x2 and screwed on . Then I just clip it on the eyebolt on the pole and if you hit it it spins around and doesn't hit the "PlayStation" ...I hit it 4 times last night but here's one that stayed in .

:dunno:
That's one heck of fine target structure-glad the kids, old and young, have a place to play. Well done.
My Daddy said a darn Bee stung him right at the time he released his arrow from his Red Wing 42# recurve and made him miss and hit the door but I think he might not "Bee" telling the whole story :readit:

Where is the bow that shoots the arrow hanging up top? :goldtooth: :archer: :archer2:
(Great looking setup btw.)
:archer2:
That is great! I like the decorative arrow you added up top! :notworthy: :notworthy:
Jim,
This is the culprit that sent that arrow through the door!
Now the Man that got stung by that "Bee" is to ashamed to show his face lol but that Avatar picture gives you an idea of what he looks like :goldtooth:

Rod,
That decorative arrow I carved from a garden stake and it has a carved nock and a field point on it that I did about 10 or 15 years ago. Then last week I cut 3 feathers using corrugated roofing tin and sprayed painted it with what I had in my cabinet .
I then attached them to the arrow shaft and cut it to appear as a real feather with tin snips .
I figured why not decorate the "PlayStation" and I ain't done yet with adding things to it.
I will put a rubber piece of stall Matt to the bottom of that deck where I have a 2x4 cause I took a little chunk out last night and knew it would happen but not so early after building it.
My buddy said better put some rubber on those two doors as well so it doesn't get ate up with worm holes . :jumper:
Now as far as the stall Matt in the back it works really great and most arrows bounce right off from shooting 20/30 yards and the ones that do stick come out easy cause they only penetrate the very tip of my field points. If the bow is a heavier poundage and closer shots I'm sure there will be a few that really penetrate deeper.
Very nice! :clapper:
Darci, thanks for your "honest" report. Don't let him get away with any funny stuff. :biglaugh:
Nice setup. :archer2:
I'm thinking that is going to get lots of use.
Looks great too.
Well Well little Darci must of got a "Bee" sting :biglaugh:

Very nice setup, but why so high off the ground? The kids must have a hard time pulling any high shots.
The targets aren't too high for dad, and I doubt if he will let them shoot without him or and adult.
Richard,
Alan is exactly right cause I don't want my girls out there shooting without me plus I just decided to do it that high so I don't have to bend down so much due to back surgery.
My youngest can't pull her arrows out to much anyway cause she was born without any thumbs and a few years ago we had her first finger moved to look like a thumb on her left hand .
On her right hand her wrist was turned at a 90 degree angle and she had a rod with screws put in that arm just above the hand joint to help her keep it somewhat straight .
She has had heart surgery also and had a hole repaired with a devise that looks like a umbrella .
She is one very determined girl and as you can see she is shooting a very light weight recurve that was passed down from our oldest daughter.
I have to sort of hold the bow but she pulls the string and let's them fly and I don't try to force her on proper form etc. I'm just letting her have fun.
If I didn't have rods in my back I probably would have brought it down some but I made it so it was comfortable for me cause I may be shooting it the most.
As of now the rules are they are Not to shoot unless I'm right beside them.
Sweet setup!!!
Keefer, you sound like a pretty awesome Dad to me.
Thank you Bill but I have a hick up or two like many folks but I do love these girls deeply.

In the picture above (Kaci ) was being pointed out by her younger sister ( Darci ) who the actual culprit is and that her name and date was to be written on "The Wall Of Shame" !
We are loving this new "PlayStation" .[attachment=1]
Keefer, I too have 2 rods with 10 screws in my lower back L3-S1 surgery in October last year and a plate and screws in my neck surgery 5/17. I still shoot lower targets and 3D targets. I am up to 43# now.
Happy to see the kids enjoy the targets. :clapper:
Very Nice.
Rich K.
Awesome! Jawge
Awesome !!!!!
Love it.
And yes, always "Bee" safe.
Thanks for sharing, Keith!
