It has a really cool reddish brown hue. Bubinga? Some sort of mahogany?
I would guess Mahogany. :dunno:
Looks like mahogany, but it also looks like jatoba. Hard to tell without being hands on.
Dave.
Can you post a good close up and a shot of the endgrain?
Dave.
I vote Wenge. A great wood.
Can't tell much from that distant of view.
Purple heart?
Looks like bubinga to me. How heavy is it?
Bubinga is my guess.

Can I get a link to see? Now I'm curious.
Sorry, I'm just kidding.
I'm being deprived of turkey hunting this spring and my sense of humour is a bit off.

It's pretty rare. Grows in some of the darkest hollers in PA.
I go with Bubinga too
without a close up of the grain, I vote bubinga. Colors are a funny thing and cameras don't always portray them honestly.
BigJim
Perfect example of Mongolian tulip wood.
Glad you are back on deck Roy, even if your eyesight is wonky!! :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
