As always this time of year, I start thinking about turkey hunts outside of my home state. In the next year or two I'd like to try for a Rio or Merriam. Wondering if anyone has any experience with guides/outfitters that do archery hunts? For those of you chasing birds now, good luck. Couldn't ask for a better opener here in Michigan. Except the Toms apparently know the property lines.
I just seen where bowhunting safari consl. has turkey hunts and they are only $ 2700.00 ! There's all kinds of places where you can do your own thing , Neb. SD. Mont. ND lots of opportunities .
Why not do it yourself? From my understanding merriams are relatively easy. Plus imo anything guided isn't a feat. If someone sets you up and you only make a shot it detracts from things.
That's 2700 thing is nuts. Who'd pay that? No disrespect to anyone

Im almost ready to break out my checkbook! But it better include meals!
I prefer DIY for sure. But with limited time off work and trying to get stick bow close, I could use the help of a service. I'll head west for birds on my own one day. Was just curious if anyone had experience with using a service.
My last out of state Turkey hunt was in West Virginia. Cabin, license, food, fishing license was about $300.00. Hunted Randolph County that has the National Forest and plenty of state land to hunt.
2700 is two elk hunts diy or like 500 turkey hunts diy 🤣
