Title: Older Deerslayer by Indian Archery ?
Post by: TSHOOTER on February 13, 2007, 08:14:00 AM
I recently purchased a Deerslayer recurve off of e-bay and am curious about its age.  It's a 60" bow.  Does anyone know the years these bows were made and where one might cross reference a serial number?  All I've found so far is that Indian Archery was formed in 1927 and is now owned by Escalade who still uses the name on youth and instititional bows.

Thanks

I think they were made back in the 70`s but not sure, I had one, it wasnt the fastest bow around but it sure was the quietest, put a D-97 string on it and got rid of the handshock and picked up quiete a bit of speed. With all glass limbs the D-97 didnt hurt the tips, shot it a few thousand times w/no damage.

You might look through  http://www.archeryarchives.com/.   I think that Ben Pearson made one called Deeerslayer.

Thanks for the replies.  It's made by Indian and even has a serial number.  I just can't find a place to reference the number.  It seems to be a really solid bow and shoots where ya point it.  I bought it to bowfish with but may deer hunt this fall with it too.
