I've always used slates and want to try mouth calls since I'll be hunting blow down instead of a blind. I tried a cheap Primos set and they aren't great. Any recommendations for a novice reed caller?
Thanks
Try Tipton Creek calls. They are fairly user friendly and very high quality. I like the TC Special.

Hooks. They're cheap n blow real easy. Good calls too
I should add idk if you'll be ready this year. It takes most guys some practice but bring them to work and run them on the way in and home.
You'll get a sore throat from them. To prevent that store in mouthwash. Keep in freezer in the mouthwash. That'll kill the germs.
The mouthwash needs to be alcohol free or it'll kill the reeds

Appreciate the advice. I have some experience with them and may try them this spring but will mostly be relying on them for fall. I can do basic calls and am anticipating a better read making a bit of difference.
