Does anyone know of a link to a study testing the force put on a bow string at brace, at full draw, and upon release when it returns to brace. I am curious of maximum force exerted. I feel that i've seen that before. Just can't locate it.
The force draw curve measures the force it takes to draw the bow at different draw lengths. It is measured by drawing the bow with a bow scale attached to the string. String tension is the tension in the string itself. I'm not sure how they measure it, but the force would somehow be measured if you cut the string and attached the scale such that it was in line with the string as you draw the bow.
Not sure which one you're looking for.
I believe Hank D Thoreau published this information over in AT in traditional section. If you're a member there you might pm him.
Here's a link to a "test" I made a few years back on this subject. Hope it adds some insight. https://www.tradgang.com/tgsmf/index.php?topic=105140.msg1976029#msg1976029
