Can anyone recommend a lightweight, hopefully inexpensive hunting stool or chair with a swivel seat for turkey hunting?
Dave.
I bought a 3 legged stool with a back from Rogers Lures that aint bad for the cost. Swivels pretty nice and quiet, not super comfy like your recliner but can sit it a couple hours easy.
Can't remember the name of it but its a lot like this one.......

First one in lineup
I picked up one of those rectangular flat lawn chair woven stools that only set a few inches off the ground from one of the big out fitter chains I can swivel 180 Deg quietly and comfterable enough for a 4 hour sit it's very easy and light weight to carry !
Thanks guys. Kenny, that chair is made by Alps Outdoorz. It's on sale for half price at Rogers. I e-mailed them to see if they ship to the great white north.
Ritchie, are you talking about those folding stools with the back legs a bit longer than the front? I have one. Can you shoot a bow off one of those? I have trouble drawing if I'm too low.
Dave.
I think mine is the same concept but the legs are level I use mind for blind hunting with my 64" thru 58" bows with no issues but I'm pretty tall and a lot of my length is in my upper body (oh boy wait tell Roy reads that) but I shoot at a pretty fair cant there not as comfterable as the stools ! And I think they where really designed for shot gun !
Mine has 3 or 4 adjustments on the leg length, so you can level it up . I did add some round plywood to the feet because it sank in the mud sometimes...
I'll have to try shooting off my low seat, but I do like that three legged chair.
I'm thinking of getting something like a bullhead stakeout blind to go with it.
Dave.
My new blind is pretty small got it on a cyber Monday deal so I have to set low to get clearance but like the light weight I think with all gear still under 20lb bow every thing If I didn't have to hike in I would have a big one and lawn chair
Flem Flem Flem. SMH...
Dave get a 5 gallon bucket and make your own swivel seat.
Whats not to like about knee pads for the tushie?
The bucket with a swivel seat would be an inexpensive option, but a bit bulky to carry. Especially where I hunt turkeys. It's really hilly and I need one free hand. I've had a couple of wipeouts in those hollers. 🤕
Dave.
Ok
Find a stump and pretend it swivels:)
Ok smarty pants, that's not such a bad idea. One of those swivel seat bucket lids on an old stump would work. 👅😁
Dave.
And while I'm sittin there waiting on a big tom, I might just whittle up a thumpin stick from a rotten branch for you.

Exactly:)
Or just attach that swivel seat lid to your ass and you would be good to go wherever ya sat down..
Hope he wears gloves :scared:
😝
I like this stool that DR Ken Norberg developed. http://drnordbergondeerhunting.com/hypertext/Portable_Stool/Portable_Stool.html
I have a couple of folding stools similar to those. My old hunting partner and I shot a lot of ducks off those stools. 😊
Dave.
Yeah, I'm going to make one with a backrest for my bad lower back so then I don't need to have a tree to lean against. Much more options available for natural blinds that way.
I got a Millennium G100 swivel seat from Big Jim..not cheap but very comfortable. I have back fusions and can not sit in just any seat. Both seat height and legs are adjustable for uneven ground
X2 on the Millenium. The quietest and most comfortable seat I own.
X3 on the millennium, but it isn't light or inexpensive. But I sometimes sit all day and the additional comfort and support are worth it.
Cheap foam pad & lots of practice from this seated position. My 62" recurve is nearly horizontal. My short 50" recurve is held exactly the same as when standing. I've taken turkeys with both.
