We have a LOT of new members since our last Auction for the St Jude Children's Hospital. Therefore, I thought it best to 'inform' on it a bit so new members won't miss out by not knowing anything about it.
To date Tradgangers have raised over $850,000.
The Auction will be held right here at Tradgang.
Any member can participate by either donating, bidding, or both. Donate your item on the listing forum and bid in the bidding forums.
Auction dates have not been confirmed yet but the listing forum is already open. But please don't post or bid on any bidding forum, and do not reply to any item on the listing forum. The listing forum is only for that, ....listing.
Once the auction opens bidding will run for at least 2 weeks, and then close 3 consecutive nights in a row.
You can donate anything you like except firearms and ammunition. In the past we've had 2 dozen cookies go for $6000 and little Delaney's pound cakes for $7000.
Other big ticket items that really help are hunting trips, fishing trips, adventure trips such as Gregg Dudley's kayak trip, bows, rare books, custom knives etc....etc.
ALL monies go to St Jude. Either direct via PayPal or check made out to St Jude. Garrett Polk will match up winners on Paypal and Checks will be mailed to Walt Francis for same. Walt will batch mail checks directly to St Jude.
If you pay via PayPal your correspondence will be with Garrett and with Walt by check. Then winner/doner will correspond on shipping. Rob and I won't be involved with any of the for mentioned. We'll be worn out :biglaugh:
No items are to be shipped till payment has been confirmed by a moderator from a posting on the item listed.
All bid forums will close at 10:00 Eastern, which means you bid must be time stamped 9:59 Eastern.
In case of a last minute tie, the 1st one to post will be the winner.
Info on dates and after auction payment will be posted on the listing forum.
We will also have a listing for 'Donations' during the auction for those that just want to donate to this cause.
I'm sure will still have questions and please ask them here instead of emailing us as many seasoned St Jude members that can answer.
So, mosey over to the auction forums and look around and get a feel for it. Hope to see you there. :campfire:
Instigating a challenge right now....more later....
As the person who gets to sort out all of the PayPal transactions, I ask that you
please include the following information in the notes of the transactions. Without these details, it will be much, much more difficult for me to sort through hundreds of transactions and match buyers with donors and confirm payments.
- TG Auction for "whatever you bid on" - "TG Auction" will help St. Jude's send me accurate reports of who donated and the "for ..." will help me locate the items on the auction listing
- Forum 1/2/3/4 - there are typically multiple forums of donations and sometimes things like Big Jims Bows may have multiple donations spread throughout the multiple bid forums to give everyone multiple chances at such items
- forum name/handle - this identifies you as the bidder
- your mailing address - this is for me to forward to those who donated via PM
So for example if I bid on a Big Jims Custom Bow that was listed on the first bid forum, in the notes section would read something like:
TG Auction for Big Jims Custom Bow. Forum 1. GDPolk. Garrett Polk 1234 Street Address, City, State, Zip Code
Please, Please, Please take the time to make a few notes for me in the comments section on your transactions. With potentially hundreds of transactions to sort these few simple cues on the transaction reports that I get from St. Jude's will help save me hours of investigation work and help us get your stuff out quicker.
I'm excited to be able to help with this and am really looking forward to seeing what all goes up this year! These kids and families are pretty near and dear to my heart.
Yes Mr Polk, was going to include that in the 'After the Auction ' info on the forums and we still will. Thanks!

I'm glad to be of service
I would like to see us confirm whether the ending time is Standard Time or Daylight Savings Time. I realize that DST is the normal, but Standard Time has a specific definition and is not the same. Thanks.
Back up....I'm going to solidify the dates this weekend...either 1st or 2nd week in June. The auction will close Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights at 10:00 Eastern. Again, that means your bid must be time stamped 9:59.
