Made up a prototype for my OSS SO i can ise as a patten sander with a guide bushing to bump templates up against. I have not seen any sanders that have this so I made one.
Used a couple hole saws, cut out a 3-1/4" disc, then cut a 2-1/4" hole out of center of the disc. I used random sized hole saws I had on hand. End result is a bushing with a 3/8" offset.
Cut a piece if 1/4 ply to match table, and cut a 2-1/4" hole on center. Glued the bushing around the hole. I like jigs and templates for repeatable consistency so this should work great for riser work. I may make a more durable model out of that white plastic cutting board stuff if I can find it in 1/4" thickness. Thats my morning production, now to plow snow for a while. I like it but you may need 2 hold downs?
You dont need those fancy high $$ hold downs. 1/4 potty hold downs. And plywood and wing nuts just as good.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200119/5835b779bcf084ba69a53379d291f582.jpg)

What is 1/4 potty? :dunno:
I just set that hold down on there for the pic. I have another one somewhere or I'll make some.
These Ive had in the drawer under bench forever waiting around for a use.

Lag screws 1/4 std one end lag on the other screw into the floor to hold potty down. They have the rings now that take tee bolts.

Feel free to copy. You cant see it proly but the very bottom is plexiglass that goes against my pattern wheel. The one CNC made jig I have has a phenolic bottom.
Check out this post and it will give you some more ideas on how to turn your spindle sander into a profile sander.
