Title: New Broadheads for my collection
Post by: OkKeith on December 17, 2019, 05:28:55 PM
I am not a serious collector like some folks but I have quite a few cool broadheads I have picked up over the years and a good friend gave me a handful the other day. Some of them are of special note due to either a high-coolness factor, a "unique" construction factor or just because I don't know what they are. Here are three:

This first one I have been after for a while. My Dad shot these when I was a kid but I haven't been able to get a hold of one before now. Pretty sure this is an original Pearson Deadhead!

I have no idea what this one is, but it's cool! Plastic construction...

No Idea what this one is either, but again a cool design...

Like I said, I'm not a serious collector. I don't have them displayed or anything. I have them all in a cedar box on my desk so I can pull them out and play with them when I should be working.

Neat, I try to keep at least one of everyone I hunt with.

The second is a hilbre pretty common.  Discontinued due to plastic ferrule cracking and tips curling. They look wicked though

The top one I am 99% sure is a Dead Head.

The second one I am not sure of but it may be a Hibre, as I have never seen any of those Hill's made with what looks like plastic.

The third one, which looks to have gotten a bit too much heat on a grinder or soldiering at the tip, looks like some that I shoot though the company is now gone.  However, the inside bottoms of mine are radiused.  There were a number of similar heads like these.  I am sure someone here will know.

Thanks Guys!

That third one is certainly a little worse for the wear but it seems to be made of thicker than usual material.

In the handful of broadheads was this one as well. I thought it was a fairly common Bear head, but I don't think any of my others have the "barbs" at the base of the blades. At one time these wouldn't be legal to use in Oklahoma since they have "rearward facing barbs" but that rule has been removed. Still cool looking though.

It looks like someone filed that notch on the back of the razor head.
