As most of you know I had 3 small strokes earlier this year.Lost a lot of upper body strength and could not handle my bow .Sent my Wild Horse Creek Destiny back to Mike and he took all the weight he could off it,got it down to 51#.Struggled all summer pulling it back 2 or 3 times a week both right and left handed.Would not hunt due to lack of consistency in my shooting, kept working at it.A few weeks ago went out with a judo and felt good about my ability to get to full draw and shot really well for me.Got up the next morning and got in a ladder stand behind our cabin.About 15 minutes after daylight got that feeling that a deer was close.Looked over my shoulder and see a small doe coming up the hill, thought she was going to go behind me when she made a hard left turn and headed my way.She started passing through a hole in the brush at 10 or 12 yards when I turned the purple heart footed shaft and Zwickey Delta loose,in slow motion it blew through the sweet spot. She went 80 yards or so and piled up.Small doe but she meant more to me than the moose, bears or other whitetails I have taken.God truly has blessed me.

:clapper: Great news and so well done.
Well done and glad your health has improved-congrats!
That's awesome Terry! Just keep working at it. After I hurt my neck a few years ago, there was a 6 month or so span where I thought I may never hunt again with a stickbow, or maybe even any bow!!!!! My strength slowly came back, and although I still can't shoot nearly as consistent as before the injury, I'm back to killing critters pretty consistently. I won't take shots as long as I used to, as the accuracy just isn't where I want it, but I setup stands so that I can get real close shots, and it seems to work pretty well.
Again, congrats on your doe, and keep getting better!!!!
Hope y'all have a blessed Thanksgiving!!!!!!

Wonderful news and progress Terry.
You have been abundantly blessed.
-Had multiple strokes from 2008 thru 2010....was in and out of several hospitals for two years
- Lost lower peripheral vision, compromised mechanical functions and balance and mental functions
-Learned to read and write again
-Couldn't count change until 2016
- Completely missed the bale 8 out 10 times for 6 months...missing my anchor by over an inch...stayed with it and emphasized a more solid form and gradually improvement followed
- Am restricted to ground hunting yet, enjoy the greatest of quality of life and the experience of God's great outdoors.
Yes....We have been abundantly blessed.
I hope and pray you can continue to hunt!
Congrats Mr Terry
Way to keep at it, congratulations
