Rattling is so cool I don't know if it's not effective here or if us dumb rednecks don't know how to getter done. Thanks for sharing!
Also at same time 2 big does and a fawn came in from behind me, they were sure something was up but never really figured out what.
Then 20 minutes later saw a couple really nice bucks about a hundred yards out but they weren't interested. The youngin came in at a dead run...
Good thing I just packed my rattling rack pack!

Yep, it should get better and better! It's a rush when a big one comes blasting in!! Right now I'm just making enough noise with a rattle bag my bro gave me about 20 years ago for them to hear it, later I will be packin antlers and give it a lot more clashing and grinding. Sometimes enough you can smell the burning bone smell ...
Ya no, I'm pushing 70 real hard, and have tried rattle horns off and on for 50 years. Not once has it done anything but scare deer away. It has to have something to do with the buck to doe ratio where you hunt. JMO
I have never taken a deer as a result of rattling, but a few have responded. On one occasion, I was working the antlers very vigorously, and I looked around to see a nice buck almost nose to nose with me. Her had that look that seemed to ask, "Hey, fool, who do you think you are fooling"? He then trotted off, leaving me completely bewildered.
Good stuff Kenny. Sure is fun when they come running in
