Its been a strange start for me this year for deer season. Normally i burn all my vacation at work to hit the woods hard the first few weeks of deer season yet this year i have not been out once yet. We are moving into our new place in a few weeks so things have been hectic and my spare time ive just only wanted to shoot my bow in the yard and work on my setup/shot rather than sit in a tree. I do have plans to hunt after our firearms season closes but i will have a new piece of public land to explore later on this season which i am excited about. Anybody else just have those years when your just not quite feeling it for hunting or are not 100% on your bow setup and decide to set out for a bit?
Yeah I am in the same boat. This past month we sold our house and then moved into another one with a 2 month old and 2 year old. It was hectic and unable to find time to shoot my bow. Now I'm trying to get my groove back lol.
never never never!!!...i would rather be homeless than not be ready for bow season...i wouldn't even have kids
in the fall...they were all born in the spring !!!
53 seasons and counting :goldtooth:
Yes. I know what it's like. Been there. And then just to top it off you'll read how some QDMI, hi tech, hunter writes an article about how all the does should be annihilated and the population should be reduced and only "140 class " buck should be "smoked". But you would be happy w a 80 lb 6pt at 15 paces.
Yep. Been there.

Not really. I've had a couple where being there for the opener didn't work out. Once due to my first heart attack but I got out there as soon as I was able.
For me this is what the rest of the year is about. That said, here in Texas hunting is pretty much a year round activity. Pigs, exotics. It's a great place to live.

One year I sold my house in late October and we moved. Was happy with the yearling I took with my gun.
Working out of the country again this year..I sure do miss Indiana in the Fall. Go out once for this Hoosier!
Got drawn for government land, paid the early season permit fee(weekends only), have not been out yet. Attending a Dave Ramsey seminar Saturday morning's and have granddaughter to take care of. Wife getting ready to Direct church retreat, so hope to get a couple Friday's in the woods, soon.
