Went on the Central hunt of the Georgia Trad Bowhunters this weekend. Great time was even though in was a bit warm. Saw a deer and an armadillo and a very skinny squirrel. Good supper put on by the club Saturday evening. 14 hunters came and most saw deer with a few "so close" events. My first time hunting for deer here in the south, learned a few things and it was good to be back at it......but it needs to cool off a bit......lol, mornings are not bad, around 55 or so. But it is a long season down here, looking forward to a good year.
Welcome sir!! I moved here 12 years ago. Lots of wonderful hunting here and the TBG organization is fantastic. I'm a member as well. :coffee:
Good luck!
Good luck Ron. Please keep us updated on your first season there. I look forward to the stories :archer2:
Ron good luck. We'll keep you up to speed when it's below zero. :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
:biglaugh: sold a lot of my wool, kept a few pieces
I'm glad you had a good time. Piedmont is just a few miles up the road from me. Its really close to home. I live in Gray and was raised in Monticello, just up the road. I have seen some really nice deer in this area, including the one I hit with the car on Hwy 11 on the boundary of Piedmont. I'm glad you at least saw one. Maybe next time around you can get the shot. As for the heat, welcome to the sunny south.
You can't shoot them if you don't see them. It sounds like a good start to your season. Good luck
Hey Ron, I understand your desire to let it cool down but yer in GA now. Does it ever cool down? Lol
Lol, :biglaugh:, mornings it's in the high 50's, that's not to bad, afternoons are tough
It was good to have you out with us Ron. Where were you Sam? :o :archer2:
So glad you got out Ron! I stalked a bear Opening morning...way hot for sure....but worth it!
Good to meet you this past weekend Ron. It will be cooler on the next TBG hunt in November. You might even use a little of that wool before the season ends....
