Title: Bear recurve
Post by: sancoon on September 13, 2019, 11:22:37 AM
I was given a bear recurve and wanted to know if anyone out there can help me with brace height. The logo on it says TARTAR. It is 66" 30# , wood with yellow glass front and back. I've been shooting it with 7" brace height. Also under the parented numbers it says Cannada 1953.

I've always found an 8-8 1/4" brace a good place on the Bear bows I've enjoyed. Have fun with the new to you bow.

I believe the 1953 is the patent date, those old Bears shoot great.

I love them old bears. I have a 1972 tigercat and love it. I agree with the others, I have rarely shot a bear recurve under 8 inches brace height.

Thanks for the help. I've been a longbow shooter for a long time and shooting a recurve is a new challenge for me. I found this recurve feels really good
