Early December, rut is done and the deer are hungry and replenishing before real cold weather.
Also nobody but myself is there during gun season ( the landowners nephew has permission during gun but hasn't been here for many years) and I split my time there and at Bro's farm (also try to be as low impact as possible!!)
Ask anyone who has been here and I think they will agree this is an inexpensive out of state (or in state) hunt. Tags are $225 for NR , cabin is a quarter mile of gravel from corner of close farm and bout a mile from the other one. Cabin has a new 24x24 addition also. Half of that is private bedrooms for the owner .

That's a great time frame on some fantastic property guys!!! If you're looking for a super, inexpensive out of state hunt jump on this one. :thumbsup:

That one was Oct 11 , youngest son's birthday. Look at the neck on that dude. Seemed a bit early to me, he rammed a couple does past me first before he hove into view...
I love it when that happens. :thumbsup: Just examples of the quality of bucks in the area around the lease farms. With the management plan that kenny has put in place for the two farms it's only gotten better since the first hunts there.
The farms are not gun hunted which mean they are sanctuary and deer/buck numbers increase once the guns start popping. I miss it.
That's true Charlie, seems to be more deer on the lease after gun than before. Maybe because we have the cover and neighbors have the crop fields...
When I pulled cameras in February , I saw 67 deer total on the two farms. That's a herd!!
My buddy on the tree farm says we have too many...

No doubt about it great place lots of deer low pressure and Kenny is a standup guy that knows the area makes you feel like home when your there I loved the cabin wish I still had the pic I would post
David and I hunted this week last year and had the time of our lives. I can honestly say we were on deer everyday. Passed on some smaller bucks, shot opportunities were there. Both Dave and I were able to take a doe each. This is a great hunt at a even better price. Kenny is top notch on all accounts!

Putting up stands this weekend, some of you probably recognize this location. Been several deer taken here...
I almost got a shot at a good 8 point one windy day during gun season here. I was trying to get my harness untangled with my danged orange vest when he and a little buck ran a doe up to me. I had been on stand about 15 seconds! LOL

Think this year will be our 9th year at Kenny's(8 for me,missed one year for new born son). We have so much fun and we talk about our trip all year long. If your looking for a great place to stay, awesome property to hunt, a chance at a big buck, and a great host you would be foolish not to take this hunt. I don't know how this week is still open. Better take it before someone else steals it!!! The deer will be there.

Darrel, I put up the last 2 stands today, fully expect a good buck from one of them, maybe both. One is proven buck run ,the other is a great contender for a buck. Hunted it twice last year and passed a buck both times.
One was a great 8 point with one antler broken off at the base. (Like to see who did that!!)
The other was a 10 about like the one I took from the ground in Dec.( pic above) but I just ,for whatever reason, didn't shoot... :)
Looking forward to the return trip this year. Only 25 days away before we are heading west. See you in a few weeks Kenny.

Me either, it's closing in. The corn and trees are starting to turn color. Saw a light colored spot in beans this morn . Saw a buck with velvet still on too...
