Any body hear from Monterey and his hunting trip
Hey I'm still at it, Max.
Still ongoing. Season runs to 8-27. Camp is at 11,600. Lots of up and down and thin air for me. I go in for three or four days and then come out for a few days of recovery. I'm out right now and going back in on Wednesday the 14th.
Rain has been a big obstacle. With it comes fog and mist and poor visibility.
This sheep hunting is very different from any other species I've ever pursued. Very frustrating. At one point I was 400 yards from a group of 14 rams. All legal 1/2 curl or better and two of them 7/8 at least. They were absolutely unapproachable! They had already made me before I spotted them. They casually walked up the side of a peak and around the other side in 15 minutes. That would be a two hour project for me! :)
On the bright side, I have found a point where they have been feeding recently and being sheep it may be on their future itinerary.
Meanwhile, the fox has always been a sign of luck for me and this one came and hung around camp one night. Now anything can happen! :)

Awesome
Wow... That sounds like a cool adventure and a real challenge... 'Be The Sheep'... Good Luck buddy...
Did you take Roy with you?
I guess he might make the sheep nervous
Only if he's got his knee boots on, Flem. :o
Good luck on the hunt Mike!
OkKeith
Hey, I seen that:)
I would be gettin different boots :o
I think it's the pink knee pads more than the boots that scare the sheep. At least that's the way it is in Idaho.
Well if hey doesn't pick the ugly one I guess it's ok  very cool Hunt Monty
You guys never fail to entertain. :)
Give us a update Monterey
I'm afraid the sheep have him....
