Hi folks
Sean and I are looking to get some more matched ,tappered cedar shafts. Any recomendations for that ?
Also we need recomendations for custom matched completed wood arrows.
Thanks a bunch
Tim :-)

Shot and bought a lot of matched tapered PO in the 90s, from a company named Rogue River Archery. They were great. The original owners would even send me a lot of culled shafts for stumping/roving for free. It has since changed hands and is now Wapiti Archery. I personally haven't ordered from them since the change but my uncle has...very happy with them.
Yes to Wapiti.
Every time I see one of these threads, I have to check on hopes of finding compressed cedars again.
I keep hoping.
I've got 17 Forgewoods matched at 57# spine. I drew a local bear tag for the first time in 10 years so I may have to get a few out for this special occasion. They were part of a three dozen set of exact 57# spine match that Danny Rowan and I split in the St. Jude's auction several years back. Forgewoods stay straight! They also hit like a ton of bricks and are naturally front of center heavy. Definitely a missed commodity in traditional archery. That said, Wapiti cedar tapered shafting is excellent quality. But nothing holds a candle to Forgewoods

Hud, Paul Jalon does incredible work and I just got another dozen arrows from him that he builds for Ron LaClair-Autumn Legends-and I feel there is no better arrow smith than Paul. My understanding is that Paul only does completed arrows and does not sell raw shafting. When I build my own(because it's good for the soul) it's tapered cedar shafts from Wapiti or Douglas fir from Surewood. If I want the best arrow, it's Paul Jalon.
I've always built my own cedar arrows and I've bought shafts from quite a few vendors. I'm sold on Wapiti for their quality shafts. They are really good shafts and well matched.
I've thought a few times about having Paul Jalon make a set for me so I could learn from a master. If I ever bought finished arrow it would be from him.

Makes great arrows
Another vote for Wapiti. I just built two sets from their "premiums". Thirty three inches and each marked with the actual weight. The weights came up the same on my scale all matched according to the Mark's. No sap, no rough spots, no splinters.
They sell the same shafts with a taper too.

His website is not working ?
Ray, I believe your right-on about Paul's arrows and yes the "Autumn Legend and Sitka Supremes" are my favorite. I tossed out his name, because they also asked for a recommendation on finished arrows. But, Ron does carry some of Paul's arrows and they are impressive. I need to throw out Raptor as a source for shafts and finished arrows too. Ted does equally nice work.
HUD, I missed the complete arrow portion.
Elite.
I have been getting arrows from Paul for many years. He is pleasant and easy to work with, and the work has never been anything but first class. His arrows come looking and behaving perfectly. They are in my arrow case right now to go back to Africa this week. I wouldn't even bother to look for another arrow maker. Whatever I ask him to do for me, I am delighted when it shows up on my doorstep.
