Title: Fun with elk ivories
Post by: beyondmyken on June 27, 2019, 05:13:07 AM
I thought I would share some projects I did with elk ivories.  First is to use them in place of buttons or antler pieces for an arm

The next project was to incorporate them into a knife sheath.  They actually serve a purpose as they are positioned so that the guard of the knife locks into the sheath with a cam action.

Sorry I added a picture twice.  Tried to modify my post several times and couldn't clean it up.

Very cool!
I inlayed an ivory in a knot hole on a riser one time. The customer loved it! (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190627/ccdfab27c7d76d19f3372cf0dc2b9124.jpg)
