I just received the latest issue and I'm looking forward to reading all of it, however I was instantly thrown back down memory lane reading TJ's editorial (always the first thing I read). I was in Ron LaClair's Traditional Archery Shoppe when he told me about the magazine coming out prior to the first issue. It was truly a breath of fresh air and you should be proud of the road you traveled and high standards you've kept. Don Thomas has been a pleasure to work with on submissions over the years. Congratulations on a fantastic milestone.
I completely agree, Ray. I have been a subscriber since before the first issue hit my mail box. I believe I signed up at the GLLI when it was held at Marshall. T J and Don have been kind enough over a few years back to publish a few articles I sent to them--mostly bowyer interviews. I am grateful for "our" magazine and look forward to many more years of great reading.
Great mag, been in since the starting issue , keep it going!!
David, the Marshall GLLI's were epic!!! Intimate yet bustling. Of course it was like the ultimate candy store for traditional grown ups long before cyber shopping came along.
Oh yeah, you nailed it, Ray--"intimate yet bustling"--I couldn't think of better words to describe it. I haven't felt the same aura since those days at other events even though they are enjoyable.
Yep, other events are enjoyable but I think those mid eighties events were just a bunch of guys that had never had an outlet like that before and there was amazed looks all over that there were that many of us in existence.
Hey, just got my anniversary issue and my picture is on the reader success page, from 2015 but I finally made it.
I was also a charter subscriber. I still look forward to every issue just like I did in the beginning.
