I'm currently shooting a Buffalo Crossover , which I really like, but is the Kangaroo Krossover that much better? anyone shoot one?

Both are great gloves. The kangaroo is thinner and lighter overall. Typically recommended for bows under 50#. The buffalo crossover is considerably thicker and heavier overall. Recommended for bows over 50#. Regardless of the recos, one has to decide how much 'string feel' you like. Some folks shoot heavy bows with little string protection others want all the protection they can get. It's nice to have a choice. I have both and doubt I'll every wear them out.
Thanks George, I'm thinkin I should get another glove and have broken in in case I lose this one. I have other brands but am very partial to these. Also have one a good buddy gave me(famous guy) but it's gonna be a collector one of these days...
How is the Kangaroo at developing string grooves? My only complaint about my Buffalo is that after a while it developed really prominent grooves that made it difficult to get a clean release.
I have had my Kangaroo Crossover since first introduced. It's going strong, I think four years. I have shot bows from 60#-42# and finger stalls haven't got any grooves like in the material on the Big shot. The finger stalls have not stretched from the heat of summer and my sweaty hands. That's a big bonus for me.
I did have to send it back for a minor repair, the Velcro on the straps gave out. Not a big deal and maybe could have repaired myself but I felt better having them do the work. I use that Mink oil stuff on it a few times a year.
I have both of those gloves. And when I'm not trying to shoot a tab, I generally shoot the Kangaroo. My bows are from 49 to 55#. I have used it for so long
and in harsh weather that the black finish has been worn off in places. It has not developed strip string grooves. I shoot a lot.
I just reread the post above and agree - my kangaroo glove has not stretched either.
Kenny... I too have been using the Kangaroo since they started making them. I love mine and agree with all that's been said. Fantastic glove. I saddle soap mine once a year and treat with mink oil. I recently replaced the velcro on mine. I learned something interesting. The contact cement they use was gooey and obviously made that way by the mink oil. I may rethink how I treat the leather.

I have both types as well. The kangaroo does not need breaking in, it can also jump from left hand to right hand with no problems. I would like to see the inside padding to be just a little bit thicker in the kangaroo model. My practice sessions get to be hundreds of arrows, the kangaroo does seem to feel a bit thin with fast flight strings after I had been using a standard American Leathers glove. i don't treat the kangaroo with anything, it does not seem to need it, even after years of use and hundreds of thousands of shots.
I think I'm going to forgo the mink oil from now on and just do the occasional saddle soap. I'll just stick with talcum powder on a daily basis. I've grown to like that quite a bit.
I have also had my kangaroo glove sense they first came out. I like it better because of the thinner leather and I feel I get a better release. This glove will last for a very long time.
Thinkin I need a kangaroo glove myself :campfire:

I want to be clear I am a big fan of American Leathers. I "might" have owned every last glove product they have made - even the neoprene fishing gloves.
My current glove is the Kangaroo Crossover and I love it. It will always be my go to glove. I may have 4-5.
Having said all that I have had a problem with the tips of the finger stalls busting loose or getting very worn right were the leather meets up with the plastic finger stall inserts. For folks that don't own these, they sow a hidden thin piece a plastic in each finger for string-finger protection.
I shoot a bunch so just figured that it was normal wear and tear. But hearing some of you talk about having only one glove for many years, maybe not. I shoot 62 lbs btw.
I do have a solution to this though that works very well, I lightly coat each finger stall on the string side with super glue every so often. Works greats and doesn't effect performance at all. I even repaired a finger stall with a hole in it that the plastic was coming out this way and put the glove back in service.
I generally have trouble wearing holes in thick leather shooting gloves with reinforcement plastic in the tips. I added mink oil and a bit of lavender oil to my bee wax string snot stuff. I have a Hill glove that doesn't have a hole in it yet and the kangaroo seems to like it too. Glove wear is caused by a number of things, blood, sweat, and tears, (Hidi Hi Hidi Ho), dirt, mildew, and crud on coarse string servings. I had been using foot powder on Hill gloves, it sticks better than corn starch and you never want your glove to smell like a sweaty sock. On the American Leathers nylon strap tips the powder sticks very nice, not so much on the smooth leather gloves, so I have gone to lubing the string more.

Guess I should thank Kenny for starting this post. After reading this I placed an order for a Kangaroo crossover on Tuesday, sent a fax with my hand tracing and Friday it was in my mailbox. I have one of the original Bigshots that I really like with only a few minor complaints being the finger stall length is a little short for a deep hook and I can't feel the string as much as I prefer with the thick nylon overlays. The Kangaroo addresses those issues and I'm thinking I have a new favorite. Try one Kenny, I think you'll really like it.
Just for the info, you can only order the kangaroo from the maker, not from any of the suppliers. :coffee:
Just got around to ordering one , can't wait to try it!! Maybe it will improve my shooting ability! LOL
