My buddy Bobby Wetten who is a Journeyman Smith in the American Bladesmith Society stopped by to show me a knife he had forged.
As I was checking it out, he told me he wanted to donate to the St. Judes auction this year!!
This knife will come in a soft case along with a custom hand tooled sheath made by master leather crafter Paul Widdle.(Bobbys Father in-law)
I believe the blade is forged from 1084 high carbon steel and the handle material is African blackwood... but I will confirm.
Shipping anywhere in the USA is on me.
Bid high for the kids, End date to be determined here soon...

I know I haven't posted all the details about this knife but I did speak with Bobby and he is going to write up a certificate of authenticity that will give all the details.
I will try to get that posted this weekend sometime.
Thanks for the great bids!!

Very nice. I'm working on making some funds for this one. I don't know what the maker would normally ask but in my neck of the woods that's worth much more than its current bid, even without considering the value of it being a St Jude's benefit.
Funny two knifemakers bidding on a knife. All I can say is bring it, for the kids! :bigsmyl:
YES!!!...That knife is worth that...great design!!!
That's because it's a BA knife and the kids are worth it...and to the folks who aren't a knifemaker take note of what's going on. This one is a prize for sure and certain.
Yes Sir?
Bobby stopped today and gave me the certificate of authenticity.
Bid high for the kids... this knife is amazing!!!

Ok ok 400.00
Great work BigRiver!
What a great looking knife!
Glad these knife bids are picking up....the decal sales are dismal.
I remember one year a member here made some Tradgang St Judes shirts....he shipped a ton of shirts and hundreds were raised.
The end date for this amazing knife will be 6/14/19, at 10:00 PM.
Bid er up for the kids!!
To the top for the kids!
:banghead: :banghead:
I have to bow out of this one. The motor on my metal cutting bandsaw caught fire this weekend. Also the tires blew on my wood cutting bandsaw, the guide blocks chipped and have been worn for a while, and it needs some other maintenance.
I've been toying with the idea to upgrade the blade guides on my 14" wood saw to bearings and swap the motor to a 3-phase with a VFD so I can use it for both wood and metal. I think it's time. This overhaul is going to take my play money for a little while but should get my knife shop back up and running so I can keep making knives and donating to the kids with each one sold.
I sense an opening $500.00
:clapper:
Let's go $550
Great work Rusty and thank you Big River for running this up!
PM on its way
Congrats to Rusty, was at Compton as to not be able to bid. Im gonna send 500 bucks to ST. Judes anyway on behalf of Tradgang.
