I have some beautiful veneers that I was graciously gifted by Idaho Curt a couple of years ago to build a bow for my son. He is a tall dude and draws 29-30" on a longbow. My veneers are 34" so a 66" ntn is what my max length is. Question one is will a 66" Hill style draw that far or do I need to do a r/d design? Question 2 is what should my stack be to hit 50# ish at 28"? I have .040 in the 2 veneers as a starting point. I also have a 14" riser cut out for it. Thank you in advance for your wisdom and advice.
First, I think I would try to nail done his exact draw length on Hill Bow. Second, I think I would shorten the riser to 12" too get more limb to work with. Stack is subjective, depends on the core wood, glass thickness,
width, taper, etc.
My suggestion is Hill style go long. I'd say 69" for 29/30" draw. I draw 27" and prefer 68 over 66 by a long shot. A R/D bow would use those veneers for him better, they're short obviously. Sorry my stack won't do you any good unless you're going high taper rate
I've decided to use them on the belly lams and build a 70" bow. Thanks
