Received my new Elkheart from Gregg. I love it. Fit and finish are superior. It is a work of art and a arrow slinging machine. 60" #50 @ 28" Maple T/D
This is a fantastic bow. It draws smooth and fits my hand like a glove.

Nice. That's a beauty. Glad to see you went with the 60". You won't regret it.
She's a Beauty . . . and so naturally camouflaged. May you enjoy it immensely.
:archer2:
Thanks everyone. I told Gregg I liked indigenous to my area wood, I wanted it dark and to do what he had to do for the T/D. I think it turned out fantastic. He said the limbs were spalted maple and the riser is maple I think. It's taken me a few shooting sessions to learn to aim low enough but the arrows are in a small cluster every time. It's going to be fun this fall.
Gregg did real good . . . I know she'd hide real well on the ground where I hunt in the Manistee National Forest. I wouldn't dare lay her down as it would be difficult to find her on the forest floor.
:dunno:
How sweet and ample time to get acquainted before deer killin begins!
Greg builds awesome bows. My son has a few .
1Arrow ,what part of the Manistee National Forrest do you hunt ? I'm over by Cadillac.
Hey Burly,
I'm N and S of US 10 around the Walhalla/Branch area. Owned a cottage on Long Lake from 2000 to June 2017 when we sold it. I now stay across the street from my old cottage in my former neighbors cottage during Oct/Nov Archery season as they are from Chicago and I watch their place during archery season as they don't come up often in the Fall. Being retired I hunt mostly Monday - Thursday and leave the weekends to the locals and the weekend hunters. I'm out of the woods by Nov. 15 when the Orange Army takes over the forest.
Have a brother on Lake Mitchell, but he's not a hunter or fisherman. Quads, jet skis and pontoon boats are his thing in the summer and then he's off to winter in Sun City West, AZ. How are the deer numbers in the Cadillac area?
I grew up hunting from White Cloud to Mesick, but mostly around the Bitely/Brohman area. Will forever be a soft spot in my heart there and I try to make it back every year at least for a hunt or two. Amazing how the sights and smells can take you back 30+ years!!
That is a dandy!

1Arrow, the deer numbers are ok. Not like a few years ago. Doe permits and lots of guys hunting have had an effect. I live here and am retired, I only hunt week days too.
What a beauty. Just don't set it down in the woods, you might not find it. :bigsmyl:
That is awesome. His short recurve is on my short list.
Very nice!
