I have made phenolic with linen and epoxy using a small piece of melamine wood and plastic wrap for the release. Would using plastic resin release just the same.
Not sure what you are referring too, but I can tell you that epoxy releases cleanly from UHMW, HDPE and LDPE plastic. Not so much with polycarbonate and other hard plastics.
When I do the two piece bows I use Johnsons paste wax as release. Doing the pnenolic Just cover your backing pieces with plastic wrap.
I think you guys answered my question weather the material will release cleanly from the plastic resin. "..........cover your backing pieces with plastic wrap..." yes that's exactly what I did previously using epoxy and worked like a charm. Just was not sure about Welwood plastic resin.
Sorry, I had a feeling you might be talking about something other than form materials. Never used Weldwood
Plastic Resin Glue for anything other than an adhesive. Are you thinking of making a composite with fiber and Weldwood?
"a composite" no I make only wood bows I would be gluing the riser pieces and lams.
Ok, "What we got here is a failure to communicate"
You referenced making phenolic in your opening post, so of course that is what I have been referring too during this thread. When I said composite, I was referring to phenolic, micarta, etc.
So my question to you is, what are you planning on doing with Weldwood plastic resin glue?
Epoxy and linen is phenolic is it not.......... I'm just referring to the glues process, will it stick to the poly. And Crooked basically answered it. As I wrote "Would using plastic resin release just the same. "
"what are you planning on doing with Weldwood plastic resin glue?" like I wrote "I would be gluing the riser pieces and lams." that's it...! could be wood could be linen.
 Got it. Sorry I did not read your post as well as I should have.
Lol.......I'm the same way some days I should read instead of look or gaze into space.
