I'm a hobbyist knifemaker. My shop supports St. Jude's with every knife sell that I make.
I'm putting up
THREE custom knives for St Jude's. You can either pay me and I can forward it to St. Jude's or you can pay St. Jude's directly and send me a screenshot of confirmation of payment with the total amount. How this works is the top three bidders get one knife each. The highest bidder gets first pick, the second highest bidder gets second pick and the third bidder gets last pick. No minimum bid required. If you offer full retail or more in this thread for an in stock knife then I'll consider that a "buy it now" option. You may pick:
- any in stock knife on my website OR
- any on hand knife blank listed on my available now page to be built up as a custom with any in stock micarta or woods listed on my website
If a particular knife listed on my available now page is holding strong interest with you guys, I'd be happy to put it on hold for the auction as well. I figure this way it will give people both the options to see something they like and want for instant gratification as well as the opportunity for something a little more special. I'm also open to using customer supplied handle materials on one of my blanks if you want something that I don't have in stock, or to use sentimental woods/horn/etc, or want it to match a favorite bow.

Bump with an added "buy it now" option for in stock blades. If you offer full retail or more and claim an individual knife in this thread then I'll be happy to send it on to you. There is no minimum bid requirement. The whole goal is to help a kid.
Put me in for $50.
I got asked about sheaths. I don't typically make a lot of sheaths until a buyer commits because I never really know what they want. If leather isn't listed I will at a minimum provide a Kydex sheath with all three knives. A fixed blade with no sheath isn't very handy for the field.

Absolutely. Lighting isn't the best in the shop and it's still in the raw here without any work to clean up the edges of the blank, the flats, or grind the primary bevels but it should give you an idea of basic size and proportions.
This one will have right at or just under a 4" blade, depending on how close the plunge lines go to the finger choil, it is set up for 1/8" pins for hardware, the thumb ramp could be left intact as is, taken down a touch to be less aggressive, or completely removed. Overall length is a bit over 9". This is fairly thin AEBL steel which is a Swedish stainless developed for use in high end straight razors. It takes an edge that is
super fine and sharp, holds it a bit longer than simple high carbon steels, yet is easy to sharpen due to the lack of large carbides typically found in stainless blades, and maintains just enough alloying to still be considered a stainless steel. It's highly popular among kitchen knives and should make a fine hunting knife.
The possibilities on this one are wide open...

That sounds wonderful. Part of my goal with having a longer auction time was to allow for a little extra time for folks interested to make a little more disposable income for the kids as well as to give time for the forum members who aren't daily readers to have a chance to get in on it. Anything we can do for these families will be a blessing many times over for someone.

This one just sold so it's no longer available BUT I did just complete a 4" drop point, which I haven't had time to photograph yet which is in the running for the auction as well. That ole fishing hole keeps sucking me in. I've hit a limit three days in a row now.
Unfortunately, this may be easing out of my price range. Good luck guys!

Yep. Made me chuckle a bit when I read it. I never could shake the sarcasm gene in me. Hence when my buddy asked for me to make a crappy knife model so he'd quit impulse purchasing one of everything I do, I made him a Crappie Knife...which he bought, LOL.
TOO FUNNY!!!!!

You got them. I'll have to drive down a few towns to pick up the Crappie Filet/Boning knife for you. It's on display at Honed In Sharpening. As soon as I get it back I'll have it and the Woodsman on the way to you.
Recd a cple boxes in the mail. Thought I'd post a pic of the two beautiful knives I was lucky enough to win that Garrett so graciously put up for auction of the kids at St Jude's. They are more beautiful in person and great in the hand. Can't believe the bids didn't go higher.
1- woodsmen
2- crappie bonning.
Glad you like them Jim. I hope you get a ton of use from them.
Thanks to all who bid and gave me the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful organization and honorable group of outdoorsmen.
