I haven't seen any posts on this yet.... The Baltimore Bowmen Traditional Classic is only a week away (May 17-19th). It is one of my favorite shoots. Who else is going this year?

I plan to. I saw Three Rivers Archery is a vendor. I don't think they ware there before? I need about 2 doz shafts. And Feathers. Hopefully they bring them and I can save on freight.
I'd like to try some bows too. Haven't had a recurve that I liked for a couple years
How bout some sunshine this time!
Tedd
My first time going. Travelling with my family from Long Island to my Dad's house in Huntingtown, about an hour and a half from the shoot.
My wife and I plan to be there. This is one of my favorite shoots. So far the forecast is looking pretty good. Hope it holds. The folks at Baltimore Bowmen do a great job, great atmosphere, fun courses.
Yes...Wed-Sun...good shoot. My fave..
I'll be there Friday and Saturday. Always a fun time. Nice to have a local shoot.
Have fun...
I will not be there due to my wife having back surgery..
If you like Baltimore, be sure to go to the Greencastle PA shoot the weekend after. Friday to Monday.
I actually find Greencastle better shooting courses but they don't get the vendors. A few items on tables inside. Or the crowds. I really enjoyed their aerial shooting set up. I hope they have it again this year. They suplied the Flu-flu arrows and discs.
Been to Greencastle twice. Big clean courses.. Lots of targets..including longrange and ariels. Veritable ghost town for shooters.?? If shooting is the only criteria..then go. You can shoot until your arm falls off. No reason they shouldnt get 300-400..but do not.?
Went for many years when I lived there. Will be there this year for the first time since 2010......
It was always a great shoot even if it seems we get rain at least one day........
Anybody have the address to plug into the GPS?
Sure. It is: 10301 Harford Road, Glen Arm, MD, 21057. It is part of Graham Memorial Park. There should be signs up too.

Living in Northern VA, there is not much happening 3D wise within an hour or so. Will try like heck to make Baltimore and maybe even Greencastle.
Greencastle is not far from I-81
The only thing hurting Greencastle is it's Memorial Day weekend. Families, wives, cookouts, camping trips, etc. But it is a great shoot.
Reddogge..you coming to B-more..???
Paul...we go down 83 and get off onto 695 beltway towards TOWSON. On there for about 4 miles to exit 31-B..Harford road. Go left at exit ramp light through I believe 4 lights and watch for big Bowfest sign on right at the equestrian club. You'll be getting close when your heading downhill..6' sign..!!
John, yes but I have the weirdest schedule. Coming Thurs. some time to set up camp. Shoot Friday. Leaving 0 dark thirty Sat. to fish a bass tournament on the Susquehanna Flats. Return Sat. afternoon and shoot if I have enough energy. Shoot Sunday and pack up. See you there or be square.
Hahaha..yes you will..!!!
My wife calls it burning the candle at both ends but remember, life isn't a practice round.
Planning on Saturday afternoon and Sunday.

Total truth! In speaking with the same lady who takes your money and email address the past few years there, she's "glad" it hasn't gotten bigger as "only so many" of the home club's members help with the event. She said they typically have 100-120 shooters max register for the event. The area down around the lake and Conococheague Creek is amazing too.

Another bullseye statement!
Cumberland Bowmen will have a group shooting at Baltimore. We go every year it is always a good shoot. The club there does an excellent job putting on this shoot. I hope many show up for this shoot it is well worth it. Safe travels to all. Hope to see you there. Agree with many others Greencastle has an excellent shoot as well. I think there course has over 70 targets with aerials and other novelty shots. If you go to Greencastle you will not be disappointed. (4) days over Memorial Day Weekend.
This will be 3Rivers first time at this show and I'm really excited to attend. I've heard such good things for years about this shoot. For those looking for 3Rivers Archery purchases, I'll have free stuff to hand out at the booth, but nothing for sale there. Call in an order by Wednesday morning and I can bring the order with me. I'll see whomever is going in a few days. Safe travels to all!
We hope to be there wed. This is a great shoot with some great food also. and as said above good boots for the trail if it gets wet.
Had a little rain this morning, but looks like that is all for the weekend.
Bummer. Nothing so pleasing as hearing rain on the tent and snuggling further into the sleeping bag. Unless it is coffee under the tarp.
Killy so glad to see you posting again and I'll be up there on Saturday morning with some friends just for the day and if I see ya I'll introduce myself to you.
It'll be nice to have dry paths on the steep parts this year. And not cold and windy like a few years ago.
Beautiful day for a shoot. I'm really enjoying the St. Charles course right now.

I had to post a pic of me enjoying these beautiful woods!

Killy it looks like he's standing on your shoulder . Now I know where the term "Can't shake this monkey off my back" came from lol :biglaugh: Be up there in the morning toting a cast iron dutch oven loaded with "Sausage Gravy" :coffee:
Some years ago, at ATAR, I bought a certain bow from Bernie Dunn, the mini-grunt. It was an Adcock ACS that he called "Someone Special", and he truly treasured her. I know this because I paid an arm and a leg for her.
She is a pretty little wisp of a thing, 58" tall and, conforming to Bernie's notions of women, lies about her weight. Bernie had made up a set of lightweight carbons for her skinny li'l string, outfitted with some mighty weighty heads, so that she could smack the yell out of a deer.
Two weeks ago I escorted her to the Tennessee Classic, where she embarassed all she met, including me. She outshot many, and gave me a few roll-your-eyes hits just to keep me in my place. But we lost no arrows and all had a good time on the course.
Today I took her into the Fred Bear course, knowing she would like to get some breathing room. Here is her first shot, on the in-and-outs leading to the main course.
Whoops, the pic is on my phone, which is in my chair next to the camp stove and down to 12% power. I will edit it in tomorrow.
(Time passes, I snore...)
It's tomorrow.

I shot the Howard Hill course today, first light. As I was the only one there, it was a lovely walk in the woods with time to poke into nooks and crannies along the way. The course was set up beautifully, with many lifelike tableaus. It all looked very natural, from the buck waiting on a feeding doe, to the moose menaced by wolves, to the two bedded bucks, one having spotted me, was standing with tail up.
Great job, Baltimore!
We had a ball!!

Beautiful Jennifer Branch
Killy, as always, your pictures and stories are much enjoyed. It was good to get to chat with you even tough briefly. It was an excellent shoot and my hat is off to the great people who worked so hard to put this event on for the rest of us to enjoy. I tried to express my appreciation to as many as I could because it is no small undertaking to do a shoot of that size. :notworthy:
I had a "Great" time spending the day with a Pastor friend Otis Seese and other friend.Made sure they were well fed with my top secret sausage gravy and even had a few stray cats pay us a visit for a couple BIG dips on their biscuits.
One of my favorite things to do is Try and do my best to "serve" others and seeing joy on their faces with all the things going wrong in today's world BUT spending time helping others with setting up their bows and getting their kids out in the creation our Father created is what matters most. Those kids had a ball and love watching as Jerry D throws little gifts out to them and t.he smile that everyone gets as they catch a T shirt or win a 3 d target .
Thanks Baltimore Bowman for a job well done to all who make it possible.
I know it had a few drops of rain a night or so but pretty dry this time and Sun was out.
Keefers. <')))><
