Title: Any knife makers??
Post by: Kingstaken on February 11, 2007, 09:51:00 PM
My buddies future father-in-law has these two old Bear Claw folding knives he wants fixed and or repaired. The blades say Frost Cutlery.
I'm told they were custom made for him about 50 yaers or more ago.
He was lQQking to replace both blades but I think #2 can be salavged.
As for @1, I would like to see the blade replaced like-n-kind and surprise him with a new smaller knife with the broken blade redone.
And #2 the handles replaced which is broken with either, stag, antler or bone.

Any thoughts on age?

There are lots of bladesmiths and knifemakers around here, but few that mess around much with lockback folders.

I know Chase Axinn up in Long Lake, NY refurbishes folders

Give him a call rather than trying to email him... I'm not sure he checks the email regularly anymore and I don't know who is running the website now.
