What is you favorite 3pc bow? If you own it why is it your favorite and post a picture. :archer2:
This new BT Sitka.
Beautiful lines, beautiful woods and excellent performance. Better than I can extract.
Being an artist my self Blacktails just appeal to my eye more than others out there and there are some awesome bows being built by many bowyers.
Yeah it cost a bit but I have no kids and at 64 life's getting to short to hunt with an ugly bow weather I kill anything or not with it.
I hope others post theirs.
My current favorite is my new Primal Tech bow! It's just a quiet, smooth draw, comfortable, repeatable grip and such a natural shooter for me. It's obviously beautiful as well.
A close second is my Bear take-down. The only advantage it has over the PT is that it is a "tool free" take-down. (Although I'm sure that I'll be able to get some different bolts and make it tool free also) (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190423/60b73ea1cd1aacd555848636af6e1e75.jpg)

WOW..... That thing is sweet, I always wondered if they shoot as good as they look. You definitely not hunting with an ugly bow! I would be scared I would beat that thing up in the woods.
A 20yd group last weekend. Wish they all were this good.
Norm builds them just as tough as pretty. Certainly not just for looks. I've dropped my Elite VL :knothead: more than I care to admit and a couple times on concrete. Barely a scratch.
Get you one, as long as you don't tell the missus how much it cost.
yep, don't want the wife knowing I'm even thinking about buying a new bow never mind what I would spend on a Blacktail. I just bought a new bow a month ago and can't wait to see it be replaced with something else. I've put a few hundred arrows through it trying my best to like it but more I shoot it the less I like it. Not sure if a Blacktail would be in my wheel house but just want to see what's out there and how people like them.
Looking at a Sentman Razorback.
This one is a toss up. I have owned probably 100 different custom bows. I just like trying them all LOL. I have a 62" Schafer recurve that is as smooth as they come and shoots amazing. My go to bow though is a Tall Tines. It kills everything I shoot at and is tough as nails. Long bow wise the best I have ever shot was a Caribow Silver Fox. It is no slouch in the looks department either.
Probably just confused you more. :biglaugh:
I really like my Bear Ausable longbow. I wouldn't replace it with another longbow, but I may drop the coin on a Blacktail recurve. I currently have a Hoyt Buffalo and it's ok.

[attachment=1,msg2864681] Currently have the longbow on the left. This along with my other Big River bow, a 50's style recurve are my primary bows. John makes some incredible bows. My MOAB is in semi-retirement and the PBS auction KOTA has yet to see action.
The only 3 piece that I've got is a Stillwater Aberdeen recurve made by Gene McGlashen. It's super smooth, quiet, and fast. 60", 57@29.
I'll try and get a picture up at some point.
My favorite 3 piece is my Thunderhorn longbow. Not only is it a looker and a shooter but it's also dead quiet, smooth, feels great in the hand.
This is my favorite, 3pc takedown longbow, #47@28, 62". This bow is dead quiet when shot, and the grip fits my hand perfectly. It was built by Randy(crittergetter) at Primal Tech Bows.

Wowsers Rod ...... Randy built you a beauty !
I'd really like to have one of these;

It's a Dryad "Orion" in Bocote(?).
As i draw 28.75", i'm not sure which riser length would suit me best (preferring to keep the bow smoooooooth). Keeping the weight down around 50lbs @ 28" would be nifty with those speedy ASC limbs they're sportin'.
Since i'm spending budget this miss. doesn't have, i'd add an extra set of limbs - 25-30lbs would do nicely.
While dreaming, i'd also like a phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range as well....since that's about as likely as my shopping list above!
Thanks Steve, you should see it in person!! Buckeye Burl is an amazing piece of wood!
Rodney
That buckeye makes a sweet natural camo beautiful wood

My first handmade bow was an Aberdeen. Sold it to a buddy. Working on getting it back.

It's a great bow. I was really fortunate that one of my friends was good friends with Gene, and was able to give me the first crack at buying it. Hopefully you are able to get it back!
My favorite all time bow is my bear takedown I bought new in 1971.
Was $185.00 back then.
It's the best shooting bow I've ever shot and has put a lot of deer on the ground.
[attachment=1]
I had the bow hospital redo the riser a year ago and it looks like new.
[attachment=2]
My favorite 3-piece is a Stewart Slammer. The riser is nice and heavy, and the limbs are super snappy. It is the most forgiving bow I own.

My favorite is the last one I built because it is the last one I built.
It is a 56" sinew backed Pacific yew bow with 2 courses of elk sinew and 1 of moose sinew and a timber rattler cover. Pulls 48#@26". I got the name because it took 7 months to complete.
Currently for turkey season

ACS CX 40@28
I like it because it is a Blacktail, it is perfectly put together, is quiet, fast, and feels great throughout the shot. I also love the exotic woods. [attachment=1]
I really like shooting my Wes Wallace Royal LB but to be honest I shoot my Bear B Mag riser with Bigfoot limbs the most consistent.
I like Bear Takedowns to the extent that I now have a small collection of them. I can now get almost any combination for almost any situation. Here are some of them.

Blackstick, I think you have a problem.......... a bear problem Lol!!! As a kid I use to go around to yard sales and flea markets and by any wood bows I could find. by the time I left home had every wall in my childhood room covered from floor to roof. I think it was something like 70 or 80 bows, most with twisted limbs but your picture made me think of that.
Great collection!
I love my Bob Lee Bicentenial recurves, both 62",
46# @ 28 and 56# @ 28. The 46 has Birdseye maple limbs and the 56 is Shedua. Very solid bows.
If money were no object would love to purchase one of the Blacktail hand carved bows. Since it is an object, I'll stick with Bob Lee.
Bought a 60# Predator from a friend in 2000 and still have and shoot that bow. Bought a second one with a phenolic riser this winter at 52# to lend to son in law to shoot. And have a 70# set of limbs for if I ever go on that buffalo hunt in Argentina. I never take my bows apart so that's why my other 8 bows are one piece including a new WW stealth I just got. Really just a smooth shooter.................
More than just a pretty face. Yesterday groups. First time in years I could wrap my fingers around a six arrow 20yd group.
20 and 25 yds. Back to back. I've never shot 25yds this good for six arrows. And no I don't expect it everyday either. Yesterday was just a good day.
Yes it cost a bunch but life is short and I'm 65 today.
Thanks Norm and Alan!
Happy Birthday Bob !!
Happy birthday, Bob. What kind of shafts are those?
Only 65?
Heck you are still a young pup:)
Pushing 71 here:)
Happy Birthday, Bob.
Stay focused, good shooting.
Happy Birthday, Bob!
Nice Shooting!!!!!
Happy Birthday Bob!!!!

[attachment=2]I like a 3 piece takedown Longbow I shoot a Yellowstone Halfbreed 47@27 Surewood shafts 60/65 160gr Grizzly Broadheads[attachment=1]

Why do I like it, cuz it's bad as heck. It can just do everything and can use any accessory.
What don't I like? It's heavy.
Wow nice group! I am working towards that and I am 72
You're a kid! Happy birthday.
