[attachment=2,msg2860558] Some may or may not recall the buck I was able to get while I was sitting in my Huntmore 360 seat behind a Root ball? Well long story short I picked up the mount late last night from a Taxidermist in his mid 70's who I believe still does great work in bringing back those memories of a "BLESSED" hunt!
Sir there sure is somthing beautiful about that mount with the trad bow next to it.. my hats off to you

Wow what a beast
[attachment=2,msg2860599]Larry,
I have no idea on his age at all but I have a picture of him from a cell phone of me trying to drag him out of the Briers to get a few pictures and I was "290 ish" dressed and he was as big as I .
His nose was a heavy Roman nose but still not sure if he is really old or not?
Here's that picture if one wants to guess?
Wow!! Fantastic animal which has been turned into a beautiful mount. :bigsmyl:
oops sorry for the Big black and white not sure what I did ? If too big for space please let me know I can remove it ?
I remember you posting this brute of a deer when you shot him; I was in awe.
What a magnificent buck, I love the mount. :clapper:

A truly awesome deer and a great job on the mount. Congratulations!
Given that big humped Roman nose I'd say he was 6yo or older.

Great Maryland buck and mount, Keefer.
Awesome buck. A real Bullwinkle. Love the second photo.
Judging by the mass in base of the horns he was definitely a very mature buck.
Beautiful buck! The mount came out awesome!
That's a buck to share stories about as the days go by. Wonderful mount.
Lookin good buddy....lookin good!!!!
Great mount! Nice all around!

Beautiful specimen AND craftsmanship on the mount.
Man, that is a COOL buck. Congrats
Looks great Keefer.
Were you able to save the original cape, or is that from another buck?
Congratulations on a fantastic buck!!! 🦌
Keeper, OUTSTANDING! I would hang it in my den, if you leave it on a tree in the woods somebody will put a slug in it!!! Not serious...
Buck of a life time Awesome.

Looks great Keefer.
Were you able to save the original cape, or is that from another buck?
The original cape wasn't any good because it was several days before I located him. John known as (Yohan) here was so kind to actually let me choose from a few bucks he has taken . He let me have the 100th deer he's killed with his bow. That buck is one that many here would of definitely have had mounted itself and a very pretty 8 point. I was so excited this past November when I sent a text to John saying" Hey remember I need a cape if you get one" and not an hour later he sent me a picture asking "Will this one do"? Well I couldn't believe it and of coarse I said Yes.
Thanks to John for letting me choose from a few capes he had and we agreed on one we thought would actually work but the taxidermist needed to do some measurements for my bucks base .
I took it to him and he studies it and said "Well Keith just by looking at it I will need to make some adjustments around the base But I do believe this one will work"!
It turned out better then I expected and that cape was very close in color as the original and had that burly reddish hair on top as well. I can't thank John enough for the "doner" buck and I feel half belongs to him for doing that for me.
Again Thank You John if you are reading this .
Your more than welcome Keith!!! My wife complains I've taken up most all of the room we have with deer heads so I have to check with her if any deer I shoot are "worthy" enough to be let in the house  Im getting a good collection of European mounts!!! :saywhat: I am more than proud that my 100th deer hide ended up under such a magnificent buck.....kind of fitting in a way......just to show you guys where the hide came from

John I haven't seen that picture but have the one you sent me on my I phone still asking me "What about this one" ?
That picture is very pretty of the way you have him posed there . I may collect some photos if ok and write a story on how you came to my rescue and unselfishly without hesitation offered several options for me including that buck mount you showed me in your home office.
John is a mild ,kind killing machine and shoots very well.
I could never Thank you enough John for doing something most folks wouldn't even think about with that buck.
God bless ya John for being a good servant. <')))><
Beautiful! Great job, Keefer!
That's great!!(Both Keefer and John).
I always check with my taxidermist to see if he needs a cape when I take a large but not big enough to mount buck. I don't think he has ever turned one down.
One awesome buck!
What a TROPHY!!!!
Man that us a really cool deer....just stunning.
One I dug up from my buddy's cell phone he took. Basically showing how close the original cape is to John's doner cape .
Awesome animal and I love the palmated antlers!
WOW! That's one moose of a whitetail! Congrats.
"THANK YOU ALL" I appreciate your comments and the help to turn pictures around for me.
To whoever put me up for member of the week I want to Thank you as well for doing so.
I still have him hanging on my work bench 4x4 leg until I can sneak him in the house and put him on the wall.
Right now I have 3 in our bedroom cause the Mrs. doesn't want them in the Living room But hey I don't mind waking up and seeing him first thing every morning lol. If she's o.k. with it so am I ! :archer:
Hey Keith once again congrats on taking a Great Buck, then being able to portray it in a fine mount. Good on you man, and also a shout out to good ole Mr.Deitterick (Yohon) for helping you out. Congrats all around.
Tony
That is a truly spectacular deer!!!
On the "bedroom" wall ;) [attachment=1,msg2862974]
Thats a cool looking buck....
What an outstanding buck - Congratulations Keefer! A dream come true for bowhunter and it couldn't have happened to a better guy.
What a trophy! Truly a buck of a lifetime. Heck that's a really nice buck the loaner cape came off of too!
I've seen some palmated bucks over the years (most from Maine) but nothing as heavy as yours. It looks like one of his parents was a moose. Congratulations on taking a buck of a lifetime!
