I recently had a buddy ask if I was interested in some walnut veneer sheets that are paper backed. These big sheets have been sitting around for a while and I believe where used for furniture.
I can get some pics if need be but thought I would ask if anyone has used such a product for bows? I suppose my biggest concern would be that the paper would separate from the veneers causing delamination issues.
Thanks
Nathan
Not me. Is it PSA backed? I would guess the paper would not wet out, making it the weak link.
All speculation, might be just dandy. I think I would give it to somebody who makes cabinets.
Run through a thickness sander and sand the paper and glue off...
It is not psa backed. Just looks like paper. I assume the paper is for stability as the veneers are really thin.
I may end up giving the thickness sander a go. I'll have two things working against me here as it is in rolls and will have a tendency to roll up and it is really thin as is.
Maybe cut to length and weight with something for awhile to flatten?
