I got the footage from my late season deer hunt all edited and put together. Unfortunately because I was packing in my hang on, sticks and lots of extra clothes, I opted to leave my big camera and arm at home. I did manage to record it on my Sony Action cam and my phone though. It's a lot of fun to go back and see if it all happened as I remembered. From when I first saw the buck until I shot was 22 seconds. 10 seconds later the deer was down. It's amazing that it started and ended in just 32 seconds. It really just shows how fast a hunt or even a season can turn around. It also shows why I rarely if ever sit down while on stand unless I'm doing an all day sit. These deer came running straight by out of nowhere. Thanks for checking it out.

Thanks!
I was shooting a 53# Stalker Coyote FXT. Axis Traditionals with a 75 grain insert and 250 grain 3 blade, 1-1/4" VPA's. 700 grains total Arrow weight. I've been shooting this set up for years and it's always worked extremely well for me.
Great shot on a beauty of a Buck  Congratulations

Thanks, I shoot a lot of my deer walking. I find they get really jumpy if they are stopped and looking around or especially if you have to stop them. I was shocked he kept walking in after almost pegging me in the tree. I was already to shoot him as he turned back to leave but he decided to head towards the other deer. Just as I shot, I think he was about to break into a trot down that little hill. I like on the video slow motion where you can see I'm locked into him and following smoothly with each step until the shot broke. It's cool when what actually happens is what you thought you were doing. The shot was pretty close, the
Thank you everyone. I just got the skull back today and I'm still in disbelief! As far as the shot, this year I've worked with Joel Turner and Tom Clum Sr and its really helped not only my accuracy but probably more importantly my confidence. This year while hunting, every shot hit nearly exactly where I wanted. I don't rush shots anymore which is huge. Even on this buck if you watch the slow motion, I draw and lock on to the sight picture and I move exactly along with the buck. I shot fast but not rushed. It also helps that he was close and the encounter was very quick, which didn't leave me much time to get nervous!

I just got the age back on this deer and he was 6.5 years old. I'm pretty pumped that he was so old for this area.
Great video, thanks for sharing.

Great Video. I always enjoy a nice Northeast hunt. What brand of coat is that you're wearing?

Thanks. I was wearing the Cabelas wooltimate with windshear jacket. I have the pants, bibs and vest too. One of the best bang for the buck options for cold weather stand hunting. I believe it's discontinued now though. I'm hoping to get a VT harvest on film this season!
Super cool! Congratulations!
Great shooting! Love to see those kinds of shots....
