Title: Stumbo Bow
Post by: acolobowhunter on January 16, 2019, 02:11:59 PM
Does anyone know Steve Stumbo?  He made bows for many years in the Ft. Collins, Colorado area, then moved away.  I have not been able to locate him.  He was also a cabinet maker.  Steve also designed the Double Bull blind.  Every blind had a small tag inside somewhere with his name on it.
I would like to locate him to get some limbs of lighter weight for my bow, which I have been shooting for over 25 years.

Thanks

Maybe try contacting Keith Beam and/or Brooks Johnson, former owners of Double Bull Blinds in Big Lake, MN.  They might know Steve Stumo's current contact information.  I've heard that Keith and Brooks are real friendly and helpful archers.  I believe they sold Double Bull to Primos.  Good Luck!

If he's the one in Severance, then he's on FB.

Does anyone have contact information with Keith or Brooks?  That might be a starting point to find Steve Stumbo.  I can check the Severence area, but thought he moved out of the State of Colo.  I know that Steve moved from the Ft. Collins area north near the Wyoming line for a few years, up in the foothills.  After that he moved again and I lost track of him.  I can't believe he would be in a band as he should be in his upper 60's or early 70's but I could be wrong.

I heard several people wanted to purchase his equipment for making bows and continue his line, but heard that he wouldn't sell it.  Last I heard he quip making bows because of shoulder problems - said if he couldn't shoot his own bows that he was going to quip making them.

Since I also am getting older I would like to get some limbs of lesser poundage.  For over 40 years I have been shooting 70 lb limbs and would like to drop to 50 + lbs.

Thanks - any further info would help.

Thanks for the info - Horn Hunter.  I called the one in Serverence and left a message, but don't think it was the right one, as his message said he had kids.  The Steve I know would be much older.  I will check out the other one.

Thanks
