I'm switching to 3 under and am looking for suggestions for a tab. I have the black widow tab but it seems a little too thick for my liking. I'm actually shooting best with an old calf-hair split finger tab. Any suggestions on a nice tab that isn't too thick?
Thank You!
There was a thread on tabs a while back, here it is.

When I shot 3 under I used the split tab anyway. I recommend the Bateman cordovan tab with the integrated finger loop. It is the one 3rivers sells as the Eichler Signature tab.
If you can find a leather thickness you like, why not make your own? Probably the easiest leatherwork project possible. I've been making my own for years loosely based on the Bateman.
A lot of folks like my shell cordovan 3 under tabs.

Or I also make shell cordovan SAM tabs!

If you'd like to make your own tab I have a little bit of shell cordovan remnants left that I sell in a bag for just $25!

Merry Christmas!
I just made my own 3 under tab this week from some spare leather I had lying around. It's not cordovan but works real well. There at several videos out there on how to make one or do an image search to help get started. I'm no leather worker but the one tip I'll give is to sand the edges of the tab to give a smooth, comfortable edge. Start larger and trim a little at a time until you get the custom shape that works for you. Then you can cut aa many as you like and have extras everywhere!
I mainly use a Neet Monster tab. Not too thin or thick.
I have a Bison 3u tab also that is a little thinner but a good tab.
I have just switch from the Black Widow 3 under to the Yost Predator tab I like the feel of the Yost tabs.
I have grown very fond of the Yost tab
I really love my Rod Jenkins signature tab from BigJim.
I make my own to get the thickness needed. Here is the latest cordovan shell.>>>---->Ken Picture won't upload trying another picture. The one on the left is Cordovan the middle calf hair the right is ballistic nylon. All work well.
Like Ken, I make my own. That way I can get the perfect size and thickness
you cant beat a bateman cordovan tab for the price.....ive shot thousands of arrows on the same one and its not even remotely close to needing replaced...I prefer something I can adjust the tightness. I have a eichler tab I don't like as much because I cant get it tight due to its design
