How fast, smooth and quiet is the Black River hybrid by Will Cocke? I've read all the posts about Faith and Hope and am quite impressed. Anyone chronoed one? Thanks!
I never chronographed mine but it shoots hard. I shot Hope when Dalton had it. My bow shoots harder,c I guess it is the limb material.

Thanks Tim. Gorgeous bow. Is that osage orange in rise. I see you live in Ashe County. I do a lot of forestry work, timber cruising for private landowners around Wilkesboro. Also, I agree w/ PBS silence about silence. How quiet is it?
I shot the pass around bow with both limb types a couple years ago and I was impressed with it. Fit and finish was excellent. The recurve limbs were noticeably faster than the long bow limbs. However, if I were to buy one I would have bought the longbow limbs. Very quiet and shot exactly where you point it. I will have one someday.
I own one (hybrid) with both the recurve limbs and longbow limbs. I've never run it through a chrony.
I can say that the recurve limbs @ 50# are noticeably faster than the 49# longbow limbs. That said, the longbow limbs are very quiet, smooth and free of hand shock as any hybrid longbow I've owned. Very similar in feel to a Silvertip.

My bow is ugly, I wanted it the color of one of those kids plastic Halloween bucket. The wood is Chakte Viga with Madagascar ebony.. There is a place in Conover, West Penn hardwoods. They have a sale every year and I got the wood for less than 20 dollars. I think I paid 12 dollars.

Gorgeous bow!
My 60" 48@28" Black River hybrid is very smooth and sufficiently fast at my 28" dL.
