I almost made it out the first week.
I almost made it out the second week. etc.
Now that gun season has started here in Michigan, I almost went out today. :coffee:
Have had many priorities during the early season that required full attention which have kept me out of the woods.
Yet, this morning will be my 45th hunt.
Am optimistic and am looking quite forward to another wonderful hunting experience...
Lots of priorities. Sometimes for some guys hunting isn't one. Other guys forego sleep, work, chores to sneak a few hours in. Guess it all depends on the person and their particular priorities
Dale, I've managed to get out at least one day in 4 of the 7 weekends since Archery Deer season opened and yet we've both killed the same thing! :biglaugh:
Hope things are treating you right,
LD
I think I've been out at least once every week but one. Probably spent more time than I should have. Doing homework until 2 in the morning every now and then is no fun, but it gives me time to go play in the woods every once in a while.
I've only hunted a couple of weekends at our ranch and one at my lease. Only one buck tagged so far.

Good for you! I have been the bad example for beginning hunters this year. I have only been out about 10 times this year. Being retired, I have no real excuse. A couple of weeks ago, I took a buck with my Northern Mist Shelton, so now I am inspired to hunt with my all wood bow and stone tipped cane arrows. This has upped my desire to get in the woods, so maybe my stand time will increase.
Season opened here in Iowa on Oct. 1st. 48 days later and I've hunted 45 evenings..
I hunted less this year than ever. Evening shift, overtime, etc, etc. Sigh.
It's almost three hour drive for me to go, so it's a bit more effort to get out. But I think I've been out every week I could from one to three days since season started, with the exception of opening week when I went scouting for elk for next year. Probably go two more times unless I tag out this coming week, filled doe tag last Thursday, now I have an either sex tag to fill! Saw several bucks last week and week before but none of them made a mistake! And I bounced an arrow off a fork horns antler very first sit, still don't know how that happened!
ive got a ton of stand time in since oct 1 and no deer to show for it!!! yet....
