Evening gang,

My first tillering tree was cobbled together with some old lumber I had laying around. My bow cradle is functional but I am not pleased with the design. I would like to see some of your cradle designs for my new tillering tree.

There are holes drilled in the board at every draw length inch down the wall on those black lines.

I Insert the bolt into the hole with only an inch sticking out, then pull the bow string down and hook it behind the bolt head.

Then run the gizmo on both limbs.

Here's what I use, it's juat a rope tied into a loop large enough to fit around the handle of any bow I'd make. Then use a caribiner to clip it to the scale. It works well enough to make me happy. And it allows the bow to rock and tiltlike it's in your hand, when the bow rocks so the handle is horizontal, the limbs are even strength based off of where you put the hook. So wrap the rope where you put your hand and the hook at you middle finger tiller so the handle is horizontal and it should shoot smoothly.

Timely thread. Thinking about revamping mine too. I like that concept of the scale above the bow Kyle, I've always put mine on the string side.

There are times when I want a more rigid cradle like Roy's, but times when I liked mine to allow the bow to pivot more like it was in my hand. Was thinking of something where I could swap back and forth depending on what I was trying to do. I find the rigid method works great before the grip is shaped, you watch the string tracking during the draw like Roy has described before. But when I want to rework or tweak (or just verify someone else's bow), the riser is already shaped and the pivoting support seems to work better for me. Anyone else use both methods regularly?
