Title: Stewarts longbows
Post by: WVFarrier on September 10, 2018, 07:18:25 PM
I was wondering if anyone was familiar with them.  I was browsing the web and saw a few of their bows, a couple looked pretty nice.

Picked up a used R/D a few years back. It handled nicely, but always seemed incredibly slow for a 60# bow. Of course soon after the grip overlay started delaminating, then a week later a tip overlay popped, sat on the bow rack ever since. Can't tell you if it was a bowyer issue or a previous owner issue. It was refinished for "cosmetic reasons" by the previous owner..

I have owned most of the well known makers' bows.  I think that Leon Stewart makes a GREAT bow.  I have two reflex deflex longbows that I love to carry, look at, shoot, and hunt with.  I will keep them long after I quit hunting. He is a very gracious man and you just can not go wrong with one of his bows.  Whatever happened to the item you described has nothing to do with the  maker. His finish work is impeccable

I completely agree. Leon is one of the best. He's been in this game a long time and his reputation is superb as are his bows. Spoke with him and shot some bows at ETAR he's still going strong.

Leon Stewart's bows are excellent shooting and beautiful bows.  I have owned and still do own five of his bows.   Four three  piece ,and a 1 piece.  All are top quality.

One of the best.  Top shelf in all regards.  One of the quietest around too.

A few years ago, I called Leon Stewart and scheduled a time when I could drive up and shoot some of his longbows at his place.
The man is a calm, down to earth, humble gentleman.
After talking with me he pulled a few longbows off from his wall, took me out back and we shot these bows until I found what I liked.
There was never any pressure, rush, etc. I actually enjoyed our conversations during the time spent at his residence and outback his shop.

I can not recommend Leon Stewart enough. His bows are literally a work of art.
I fell in love with one Longbow that I was shooting that day. The woods, the intricate details, smooth draw, and most important too me was how quiet the bow shot.
The quietness was the closing selling point for me. Absolute silence for each and every shot.

It was for these following points:
Leon Stewart is a patient gentleman, whom spent the time for me, without rushing me. Took the time to make sure that I was satisfied in my choice of bow.
The woods of the bow are a true work of art and craftsmanship.
And again, the quietness of the shot.
These are the reasons that I own a Leon Stewart Longbow.

You will not regret your purchase.
