Working on my frankenbow.had to replace the limb pocket Velcro with popsicle stick shims.Velcro was giving side play.had a string on it,but was bracing 9" and bout one inch of string groove showing, now I got a better string and bracing 7 1/2" and tillering 6 1/2" ,top limb hair higher.string groove is showing perfect set.heading to the range Saturday to dial in some broad heads.bow is black bear riser with 45#,64" samick journey limbs,I'm pulling 31". Really like this set up.,thanks, dan
You could also try adhesive backed cork. The Black Bear has a fair amount of deflex so 7.5-8.5 inches especially with 64" limbs is not out of the ordinary. A quality low stretch string will make the bow. Lot of folks shoot shoddy strings and wonder, but it's like putting cheap tires on a sports car. Enjoy!
