All,
A lot of folks have asked me over the past year how to recreate the speed hitch rope that was offered as an option with the old Loc-On brand of treestands. I tried several types of rope and feel the Amsteel rope is just hard to beat. Lighter than the original rope used and 3 times as strong. I use 1/2" amsteel for my personal loc-ons but 3/8" would also work. I like the 1/2" because it offers more surface area where it contacts the hooks on the stand itself. I figure it will wear longer that way.
Anyway, I created a video on how to make the rope hitch and thought I would share it here hoping someone might benefit from it.

Pretty cool Sir.
Thanks for posting that. :clapper:
I have 5 Lock-On stands and love them. 4 are chains and one is the rope. Great stands. Unfortunately, I no longer climb over 4 ft. Wish they were still around.

Great Video. I too loved my loc on stands, they to me was the perfect stand for "Running and Bowin". Wonder whatever happen to them?
