Title: Current woody builders
Post by: Cavscout9753 on August 06, 2018, 11:01:23 AM
I know things happen and the game changes, but which tradgang sponsors are currently building good quality woodies from doug fir? I just need a simple set, no cap or crest, so paint skill not a factor. Feel free to PM me, I dont want to cause a drama. Thanks folks.

Thanks Hud, I saw those. Very sharp looking! I have never owned a set of capped and/or crested arrows, and those look so nice! Some day I may pick up a set of beauties, right now plain-jane arrows that are built well is my only goal. I'm trying to get everything in order before deer season down here and I'm behind the curve on a lot of things. I got in touch with a tradganger who's going to build me up a set, but more options are always a good thing in this business. Folks get busy, stop/start building things, etc. so I like to have a good list, and Raptor's on that list for sure! Thanks again!

Cav, have you considered making your own arrows? With the simple style you prefer, it would not be difficult at all, and over time, it could save you a bit of money. Careful, though, it is easy to become interested in crests, crown dip etc. Even I have been able to make a few reasonably attractive arrows. Of course, I'll never have the artistic talent these sponsors have, but it is sort of fun to fiddle with in the off season.

I have considered it, I need a decent fletching jig first though. Once things are set up for this seaaon I'll be able to look a little further down the road. I'll get thers! Haha
