I've had this little selfow for years (bow was made by Dan Antes who used to be on Trad Gang but I've lost info on him). The Sinew backing really peaked the performance & cast. I wasn't sure I could reduce this 54" 54#@26" Sinew backed selfbow down to 40#@28" without it breaking. But it came out great and still has great cast now pulling to 28".
Profile before reducing weight. The bottom limb is very stiff compared to the top limb...way out of tiller.

After grinding off 20# from the belly, here is the new tiller...

Belly was some type of white wood, now stained...

Still have plenty to keep me busy. Couple stacks of bows already reduced or up next for the grinder. Old recurves, longbows, and selfbows...tippit

You are getting real good at reducing bow weight Tippit. Glad you are able to enjoy some of your bows again. By the way, I have made the statement before that I have too many bows, but looking at your pictures, I wasn't even close. :biglaugh:
Crash,
Those are just the tip of the Iceberg :)
:o
Nice job as always.
