Last year South and Jake from Stalker StickBows came to Texas and hunted whitetail at my buddy Paul's place for several days then hunted one of my places for several days. Lots of arrows were sent that week and I think during the hunt Paul killed a doe , my buddy Donald killed a nice buck , South killed 4 or 5 and Jake killed 3. Also a hog an axis and a few other deer might have been missed , most of my time was spent just keeping everything in order and skinning. Pretty sure a good time was had by all and lots of good food eaten. Anyway I got a box in the mail a few weeks back with a beautiful Stalker Jackal longbow in it as a gift from South...

Beautiful! Good luck with it!
Thats a beautiful bow, beautiful woods n understated elegance!
i love my stalker coyote, great looking, smooth shooter.
That's awesome! South's bows look awesome, I haven't had the privilege of shooting one yet. I'm sure you will be arrowing an axis, hog, or an aoudad before long :campfire:
So it is 62in 52@30 , just my size..
Made up a few sets of wood arrows for it and got a quiver on and started doing some shooting. I'm getting ready for my elk hunt this year and figured this will be my elk set-up but it needed to be proven. So took it out last night for a hog camping trip to the same place I had taken South hunting. Along about an hour before dark I saw a big group of hogs across the field and thought about going after them. It's 100 degrees out so I just waited in the shade and about 45min later 3 boars came up from the river but were headed behind me. I'm about 20ft up a tree and they are about 25ish yards away and another 20ft lower than the base of my tree down in a creek bed. And will probably wind me if I let them pass by , I leaned around the tree and when the lead boar gave a shot I sent an arrow his way.
The big banana feathers looked good a little high but good , they all bolted off making lots of noise. Thought I heard him go down but wasn't sure so I gave it an hour before looking. The arrow was a cedar with a Ribtek head and 600gr total weight. Got down and followed up on him , trail was pretty good and he only made it about 125yds. The shot was just a little high but great with the angle , the arrow penitrated right up to the fletch. Where he died was some pretty rough ground so I cut him up on the spot and packed him out. So the bow is now ready for an elk hunt...
Thanks South...

I was lucky enough to stumble across a 64" Coyote, 53##30". I draw 31" so a little higher than I normally shoot. I shoot this one probably better than any bow I've owned, and I've had quite a few. Elk and deer season is only 5 weeks out for us here in Utah, and I've got Idaho and Montana tags as well. Looking forward to putting some Cutthroats to work.

Cocobolo and Myrtle. I've got a block of black walnut I'm gonna drop off with him eventually to have another one made. I'll probably finish it out at 51-52#@31". Right in my wheel house. Really like the looks and lines on that riser!
What a great gesture to say thanks!
Great job Sir!!
Great gift,very nice looking bow.
Thats the best way to break new weapons in! Nice hog!
Great looking bow and gesture. I am sure it was hard work breaking it in, but someone had to do it. Hope you can connect on an elk with it too.
Sweet looking Coyote Sam. The Coyotes are easy to get along with in either recurve or longbow configurations. Enjoy!
:clapper: :clapper:
That's really cool! He'll get some good advertising with you too 😂 I'm sure it will be the first of many! Great looking bow!
Awesome! I have never had the priviledge of shooting a Stalker.
Nice hog and beautiful bow! Go get another one. :archer2:
Once again, that is a beauty of a bow Sam! Congrats on it and the bacon. What a great way to break it in! :clapper:
Great fun and thanks for bringing us along again Sam! After visiting with Sam yesterday afternoon in regards to him going up to the lease to work on stuff for our group....and "possibly hunt".....I really wasn't surprised when he texted photos of his prize. Sam is the best hunter that I know. He makes it seem easy....but I believe that it is just his years in the field and his dedication to his craft / passion.....he understands the woods and waters....along with how to prepare equipment and set-ups.....and he's been doing it his whole life.....and it shows....
Don't you agree :) !!!!
Beautiful bow...congrats on the hog. :archer:
Congrats Sam, I like South's bows but whatever you have in your hands becomes a deadly weapon.
That's a beautiful bow and congratulations on your hog. South is a great guy ! I absolutely love my Stalker  .
Sweet bow and congrats on the hog! I also have a Stalker Coyote!
Beautiful bow and nice hog Sam! Good luck on your Elk hunt!

Quite a gift! I am sure you will enjoy that one.

,,Sam,,
Sam, I've not doubt here that you can do it justice! Look forward to the stories. Did you manage to find you some 200gr heads to use up front?
Yes sir I got 3 different left bevel 200gr heads on the way..
,,Sam,,
I've contemplated a single bevel head but, they all seem very narrow to me. Here in my part of Oregon, the brush can get pretty thick and I want as much blood as possible to track by. Believe it or not, the Eskilites I'm going to be using could be wider to suit me! :biglaugh:
I agree with you sir , I prefer to shoot a wide broadhead myself. Just wanting to see what all the hype is about with em...
,,Sam,,
Roger that! I look forward to your thoughts on them and hopefully a harvest at the end of a good blood trail.
Congrats on the hog! South is a great guy and a super generous individual. Having had the privilege to hunt with him and see him in his element is amazing. His bows shoot as good as they look and he's always improving. And Jakes ok too ;) Good luck on the elk hunt!!

Sometimes a wide head and thick brush is a bad combination...or so I've heard! Lol

One of my favorite heads of all time is a TreeShark so these single bevel jobs are going to look like field points on my arrows...
,,Sam,,
Nice bow! How do you like the grip? Can you describe it? I have been wanting one built with the static recurve limbs.
Thanks
