"Up a Tree Without an Arrow"
Autumn forest
All around
Slip through the morning
Without a sound
To the tree
Where I formed my plan
Shimmy up
And set my stand
By skinny rope
Pull up the longbow
Attached to my pack
Which was also in tow
Settle in
And patiently wait
A blacktail deer
To seal his fate
Sudden sound
In my ear
Not twenty yards
A forked horn deer
Longbow in hand
A sickening shiver
Look around
To find no quiver
Now down below
With the singing sparrows
Lies my quiver
All full of arrows
The blacktailed deer
Slowly fades away
As do my dreams
Of a harvest that day....TW

Good little poem TW
Leaving mine in the truck,or getting out there and realizing no broadheads :banghead:
A hook on your hoist string will retrieve your arrows.
I've never totally forgotten my quiver, but I have had to climb back down to get it a couple of times.
