Spray some bug killer into a bag, place the camera into the bag, close the bag and let the bug killer do it's job.

After you kill and remove ants, tape over the vent hole on the bottom to prevent them coming back.

Take the batteries out before you spray anything in the cam. Don't want to short anything out.

I've had ants in several of mine before.  I just pulled the camera and shook them and any larvae out and never had any issues.

Freeze em out. Stick it in the freezer and let it do the deed.

They stay alive in winter by going deep enough in the ground where it doesn't freeze. At least here in the southeast..

Great ideas given. The freeze thing I never though of but here's a simple fix for bugs in a trail camera. Don't use one. Scout w binoculars long range, spend some time walking/ driving around. Don't kill your spots spending every minute in there. I know it sounds so foreign but this is Trad gang right? Old school/traditional ways?
To me and I'm laying my ideals on no one but bait, cameras and ozonics are not The way I do things and they certainly aren't necessary

Just put a little cinnamon in the camera case. It will keep the ants out.

This works.
We put cinnamon on and around our beehives to keep ants out.

Just put of curiosity, I've never heard cinnamon works, not doubting anyone btw but we've got crazy numbers of bears around here and they'd eat the cinnamon flavored camera!!
It just seems if they're in you're area heavy that could be a risk factor

Yes,if you have bears, don't use the cinnamon. If I had ants getting in,I'd find out where they were getting in and fix it.I'd be reluctant to spray anything inside.Borax inside might kill the ants but I really wouldn't want them getting in,in the first place.

I spray the tree and ground with permethrin around the infected camera. Keeps them out.
