I have a chance to get a nice looking Holly bow at a decent price but do not know anything about them good or bad? anyone shoot one?
I used to own one, I've shot a lot better and worse. Put a bow quiver on it and shoot a heavy arrow and you'll probably enjoy it. What's the good price out of curiosity?
if it's the spirit I'm familiar with... I'm pretty sure rmsgear was the distributor for his bows. They used to have 10+ in stock at all times. I don't know if spirit bows are being made anymore.
I've got a 43# 62" version. I think I payed $425 new.
it's fairly pedestrian for speed. I think I was shooting a 500 grain arrow at 150 fps @27ish draw.
I shot it pretty well, but as my shooting has progressed I have found that style of grip to be inconsistent for me.
I've been shooting 600+ gr surewoods for some 3d shoots. It's slow with those. Probably 140 fps, but that heavy of an arrow is asking a lot from it. It could be the current string, but I wish it was quieter.
Overall it's a decent bow with good looks. Not a speed demon.
I had a couple of them ........I thought they were very good shooters. Good fit and finish and performance was good.......I would but another at some point.
They are a good quality bow and a good value but not the top of the heap.
I owned a Brian Holly Spirit longbow purchased from RMS Gear and found it to be a good shooting bow and fairly attractive. Like others have said, they are decent bows at a reasonable price but it was not a bow that I covet like my Stalker Stickbows.
